Delta Fares

Short Layover with Delta Airlines 39 min!?

I am traveling to see a friend of mine out in Utah. Delta seems to have the cheapest airfares, but the layovers are 39 minutes! It's the same airline there and back, but I'm a little concerned. Is 39 minutes long enough to make a connecting flight if I'm using the same airline? The connections are in Atlanta on the way there, and Detroit on the way back, if the airport makes a difference. I'd appreciate any input. I don't travel much, so this vacation is a big deal! Thanks! She lives right in SLC. She says the same thing, it's beautiful there. Thanks for the answer! I also figured if the airline didn't think that a connection was feasible, they wouldn't offer it. Thanks again!

  1. 39 minutes is plenty of time assuming everything is running on time, but airports are hardly known for being strict about time. So answering your question is hard to say. If the first plane is late and the second plane is on-time there is a possibility of missing your connecting flight, but if the first plane is on time and the second flight is late you will have a lot of time to kill between flights. If both planes are on time, you won't have any time problems either. I have had all 3 scenarios happen to me. Don't stress about it too much. If your first plane is running late you can talk to the stewardess (assuming they are helpful) on the flight and they will be able to talk to the airport and find out if you are going to miss the flight. If you do miss the flight you can always talk to the airline reps at the gate and figure out how to get on the next flight leaving for your destination. It can be a pain and a waste of time, but you don't need to worry/stress about it. Just remember to pack your liquids in your checked luggage and get to the airport early. Where in Utah does your friend live? I used to live there, I loved it. I hope you enjoy the trip and everything goes smoothly for you.
