- Delta's Sky Miles are attached to that American Express card. You will get points everytime you use that credit card. Some airlines will allow you to have a frequent flyer number without a credit card, but you have to sign up in a different location. For instance, JetBlue Airways allows you to have a TrueBlue account without signing up for the JetBlue Airways credit card.
- you mean you dont want to earn miles when flying delta? how else did you expect to get miles? if you use the american express sky miles card you get usualy a mile for every dollar you spend
- You must have signed up for the credit card without knowing. Having the AMEX Delta Skymiles card is definitely not a requirement to earn miles. Using the card is ONE way to earn miles but most people do it the old fashioned way by flying. If you don't believe me, contact a SkyMiles representative at 800-323-2323. Also, did you give them your social security number??? Delta would never ask you that just to earn miles.
- Did sign up for an American Express card by accident? The first year is free but afterwards, there is an $85 annual fee. I would definitely cancel before they charge you an annual fee.
