I bought a ticket on Orbitz for a flight to Michigan. The airline is Delta.?
i purchased a ticket for a flight early December. Just now I realized I cannot make the flight. I purchased it through orbitz for a Delta Airlines flight. I was wondering if there is any way to cancel it and if there is a fee and how big a fee? How do I go about this? Thanks

- Call Orbitz right away and ask them. I'm not sure of their policy but I had a similar situation with Expedia. My understanding was that tickets were completely non-refundable but when I called Expedia said the ticket hadn't been issued yet and gave me a full refund. I paid a fee of about $5 or $10 and the original ticket was over $1000. I did immediatly buy another ticket with different dates but I don't think that was required. This info may not help since you bought the ticket quite awhile ago. Mine was less than 24 hours.
- You need to contact Orbitz. Assuming your ticket was non-refundable, you won't be able to do much but cancel for future credit. You need to complete travel using the credit by one year and there will be a penalty fee of $150 or more when reissuing the new ticket and if the new fare is higher, you will need to pay the difference. Those are all airline penalties, Orbitz may even have their own fee for reissuing and or cancelling.
- Here's a link that will guide you though the process: http://faq.orbitz.com/cgi-bin/orbitz_faq.cfg/php/enduser/home.php?p_sid=XhoiX5nj Then click on "how to change or cancel my airline ticket" Expect to pay fees to change or cancel the trip.
