How old does someone have to be in order to fly for an airline such as delta??

1. At least 23. They usually want someone with an ATP and thats how old you need to be.
2. You're going to be looking more at "experience" requirements rather than age, although age will certainly play a factor. A major airline isn't going to hire you unless you have either military experience or have been a captain at a regional airline. Let's say you upgrade to captain at a regional airline as soon as possible: age 23. A major airline could conceivably hire you a year or two later so I'd say the answer to your question is 25 years old.
3. I had a co-pilot that began to fly for United at 22yrs old.
