How old does someone have to be in order to fly for an airline such as delta??

- At least 23. They usually want someone with an ATP and thats how old you need to be.
- You're going to be looking more at "experience" requirements rather than age, although age will certainly play a factor. A major airline isn't going to hire you unless you have either military experience or have been a captain at a regional airline. Let's say you upgrade to captain at a regional airline as soon as possible: age 23. A major airline could conceivably hire you a year or two later so I'd say the answer to your question is 25 years old.
- I had a co-pilot that began to fly for United at 22yrs old.
