I need a flight to NYC. Which is the better airline, Delta or American?

- I'd go with Delta. But with fuel prices the way they are right now - for me it would all come down to price! So go online and check out the ticket price. You may even be able to go to expedia.com or travelocity.com and find a cheaper price. Good luck.
- They both are good airlines and pretty much fly the same types of planes. Delta might be trying a little harder to please as they survived and came out of bankruptcy and are doing pretty good these days. American is the worlds largest airline as as such a person might do better to go with a somewhat smaller one like Delta .
- I flew with my parents remains on Delta. The first trip was to bury my father and the experience was unbelievably good. The people were great and everything went smoothly. A few years late I did it again. The second was the identical trip except it was absolutely awful. Up to and including be treated to watching a baggage handler kicking my mother's coffin. I wrote a letter naming names and places after both trips. I received a reply to the positive letter and absolutely nothing on the negative. I suppose either airline would be OK but, as you can understand, you won't find me on a Delta aircraft any time soon nor will you receive any endorsement for them from me. One of my jobs before I retired involved aircraft accident investigation. From that perspective there is no significant difference in the two airlines. Good luck, and regardless of your choice, have a great trip.
- i would go with American because delta usually loses your luggage
- look at prices but Delta flies into LaGuardia which is much smaller that JFK or newark so it would be less of a hassle
- They both are same as service wise, You can choose your prefered timing and get the one. Bye see you flying :)
