Delta Fares

Argentinian airline discriminating?

Hi everyone! I came to argentina for 22 days to visit my family with my emotional support dog. When I made the reservation with aerolineas argentinas I mentioned I will be travelling with my dog in the cabin, they said it was fine. My flight was cancelled from miami to ezeiza and they told me i had to fly with delta which let me fly with my dog. I am now returning back to miami and aerolineas argentinas does not let me travel with my dog in the cabin, they say it has to go in the cargo hold. I told them I have my doctor's note and they still wont budge! telling me only if I am blind or deaf can i travel with my dog. Again not something they said to me when I made my reservation! I need help! What should i do

  1. I would try to get a refund on the ticket and fly back with Delta since they were more understanding about the dog.
  2. See if they are willing to transfer your ticket back onto a Delta flight. Mention that you had this issue confirmed when you made the reservation, otherwise you would not have booked the ticket. Be polite, but persistent. If they say no, ask to speak to a supervisor. Your only other recourse is to buy a new ticket on Delta and then take it up with the airline after you get home. Foreign airlines do not always follow the same rules as domestic airlines however.
  3. You can threaten w/a lawsuit if you're willing to go that far. But, a lot of airlines have their hands tied 'cuz other passengers can be allergic to dogs, then that can cause a whole new host of problems! It's a liability and people are happy to sue at the drop of a hat nowadays. Go back to Delta if you can.
