I am korean studying in US with student visa I was planning to go Cancun, Mexico today in the morning 9 : 30 AM I went to the airport and tried to check in and 3 workers there (Aeromexico) they told me that ※ I can not go to Mexico without a visa. I asked them if I can make one there and they said 'no' . They gave me the number of Mexican consulate. at the same time, I was going to meet my friend in Cancun who departed from Miami at 9 o' clock who is Korean too. I called him and he didnt answer the phone. I assumed that he couldnt depart too because he is korean too and I know that he doenst have a visa for mexico. so I came back to home (8 :15am) and called to the Expedia to canceled everything (flight and hotels) because the flight was 9 :30 and i was worried if I canceled too late, i wouldnt get my money back. I called them and I could get credit on expedia for my flights (not money refund) and they said hotel is nonrefundable, but they said they can give my money back for a night ( I booked for 2 nights) so I got 299 dollars(from flight) credit on Expedia.com and 140 dollars(for one night hotel price) back on my credit card. so far, I lost 140 dollars (hotel) and I spent 80 dollars to go to the airport and come back. after I canceled this, I called to the Mexican consulate if I can get visa in a day or something . like ASAP. and They said ★I CAN GO TO MEXICO WITHOUT A VISA. since I am South korean. I called to the aeromexico, atlanta airport, delta (which is associated with aeromexico), expedia and even miami airport to check if my friend departed. They said he is on the plane to to Cancun. so, I was on the phone with like 5 hours with so many people, because everytime i call someone they refered me to other and disconnected so many times, and gave me other number to call and stuff. I finally could reach to the aeromexico manger (locan in atlanta). and he told me that he will offer me the tickets to go to cancun tomorrow. not for free. He said he will retain all my reservation again. that means he will take care of with my credit on expedia. I didnt like that idea but still I really needed to go cancun for my friend and spring break. I said yes. and he said he will get back my hotel reservation again too. he asked me about the cirmfermation numbers and email adress on expedia and i gave it to him later, he call me and he said he took care everything I have flight for tomorrow in the morning and will stay in the hotel so my credit on expedia is gone. and I can only stay for a night since my new flight is 17th and will come back 18th march. but my friend is there and waiting for me and he doenst have any hotel to stay so I asked him to re book the hotel for 2 nights. but still I had to pay for 2nights but i think in this case, They made a mistake and I didnt need to pay for him(my friend) for the hotel.I think they(aeromexico) should have done something for that. so anyway, somehow I could reach to my frined on internet, and gave him the hotel's address and new confirmation code that i got from the manger. He was waiting for me in the airport for 2 hours and was mad. I was still mad at that time, but tried to be positive. but I just got a phone call from him(myfriend) and he told me that he went to the hotel and the hotel manger said there's no record or reservation by my name or his name. he was there for 2 hours to make things work out. He tried to call me from there but the hotel manger told him that they cant call to US. the hotel manger showed him that the record which is saying my reservation has been canceled. so he found hotel and booked for 2 nights and booked for other activities to do for tomorrow. so now. Even if I go to the cancun tomorrow. I have no one to spend time with. no hotel. and I should pay the same price for flights it was for 2 nights and 3days( its still short) but now i have to pay for a night and 2 days its too expensive and waist of money. I spent my time on the phone for 5 hours I spent 80 dollars for taxi and will spend 80 dollars for taxi again for tomorrow because i will go to the airport and will talk to him IN PERSON. I am not going to mexico anymore. but I should pay for the hotel because it was nonrefundable and the aeromexico manger keeps saying that they made a mistake that they gave me the wrong information but he said "everybody makes mistake ~ u know , first mistake was we gave u the wrong information but second mistake is you should have called to mexico consulate, before you canceled the hotel and flights, I waisted of my time for you for 2 hours !! to retain the hotel and flights reservation again" he kept saying that i wasnt cooperating with him. and he is trying to help me. but see, he didnt do anything. and keep saying that I have a fault too ! whats the worng with them I went to the airport and they said i cant go, and who do i have to believe? of course them. why should i have to check with mexico The aeromexico manger also asked me that if I told them(when i checked in) that I am south korean ! he said 'NORTH KOREAN NEED A VISA TO GO TO THE MEXICO ' but what the hell. it is commen sense that north korean cant be in US ! and my passport is showing them that I am south korean!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
