how can a casino operate if it is not on a reservation?

example: LeBerge du Lac in Louisiana, Delta Downs, Isle of Capri..... The only one that says its on indian territory is Grand Casino Coushatta....Just curious... -thanks

  1. The casinos in Louisiana and Mississippi and on the river are technically in the water. That's how they get around the no gambling laws. They are actually built on a barge in the water. It just doesn't go anywhere.
  2. There is no federal law that says non-Las Vegas casinos have to be on Indian reservations. It is up to the states whether or not they want gambling establishments within their borders. States' rights. Thank heavens we still have them.
  3. most casinos that do not go out in to the river are built on a barage or in a moat. but they must keep the mote running to keep it from floating a way
