Delta Fares

Is it true that Delta Airlines has begun limiting the number of seats for skymiles?

It seems now that if you don't reserve skymile seats quickly, you can forget it for at least 331 days, which is as far out as their reservations go for skymiles. Why are they limiting the number of seats, is it because of their 2005 bankruptcy rules?

  1. I bet you are right. been reading about this possibility in the airline industry.
  2. yea thats what i have been hearing on the news lately
  3. ya. due to the recent events in DA, they have been forced to resort to such desperate attempts at putting their company back on track. this is not a long term plan, but rather a short lived trial period in which they hope to resume normal productivity output by 2015
  4. ALL AIRLINES limit the number of seats available for a specific flight. They would rather have a handful of money than a paper voucher. Starting after 911 many routes cut way back on the number of flights, a lot were never replaced. If you haven't noticed most flights are almost full which make getting that free ticket something of a science..... Book early.. Prime routes 340 days
  5. All airlines limit the number of their air miles reward seats. I think Delta may be going through what United went through a couple years ago. Everybody using up their miles because they may not be around long.
