Does Downtown Toronto's Delta Chelsea Require a Credit Card at Checkin?

I made reservations for the Delta Chelsea in Downtown Toronto through hotwire.com with my debit card. I was wondering if the hotel required a credit card at check in for incidentals or if a debit card would be acceptable. Also, do you know how much the hotel holds for incidentals? Thanks I contacted the hotel directly and they indicated that making a cash deposit would not be an issue and that the charge was about $50 per night of stay.

1. While I dont' know 100%, I'd be willing to bet they do. Most hotels do, even the inexpensive ones ... and the delta chelease aint no cheepie hotel.
2. Yes they will. I book on hotwire all the time and they always require a credit card. You might want to call the hotel yourself to see what you can do to accommodate you. Also Ive stayed at the delta Chelsea before and they have the most rooms in Toronto, so ask for a free upgrade, the worst they could say is no.
