Delta Fares

Seat assignments and changes on Delta?

This summer, I am on four Delta flights. My first one is DL 337: LGA-ATL, July 23. It is on a B757-200 (regular, not transcon, unfortunately), and I'm in 29C. This was the first available row in economy when I booked. However, a few days ago, row 28 completely opened up. I would rather sit there, since it's further forward. Rows 26-27 are exit rows. I could change my seat if I would like to. My questions: -Is it a good idea? (Where would you rather sit? Row 28-45 ABC-DEF) -I am in Coach (K). Will there be a change penalty/fee? If so, do you know how much? (I already emailed Delta, and they said I'd have to call them. I'd rather not, so I'll ask here first.) I have a SkyMiles number, and I could make changes in Itineraries, but I don't know how much it would cost. Here are some links: https://www.delta.com/planning_reservations/plan_flight/aircraft_types_layout/757-200/index.jsp http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Delta_Airlines/Delta_Airlines_Boeing_757-200.php Thank you! I chose my seats myself at delta.com. Thanks again. Just some extra info: I am in Economy Class K. Here is information from delta.com: Coach (Lowest fares) L, U, T, H, Q, K * Lowest published fares * Limited availability * Limited upgrade opportunity * Most restrictive 100% of Mileage It is a nonrefundable ticket. I know this question has been in voting, but if you know something that might help me but is not here, you can email me. Thanks again!

  1. Don't cause yourself a hassle. Take the seat you've been assigned to.
  2. you can change your seats without penalties....did you book with Delta or with an agency that works with Delta?!? based on my experience, I was able to change seats without paying a free and, plus you are booked well in advance!
  3. Changing your seat online is the easiest way to handle it. My seating preference is based on the length of the trip: for a short trip, 3 hours or less, I am fine with an aisle seat, but for a longer trip, 8 hours or more, I like the window so that I can use a pillow and prop my head against the side of the plane and nap. I also prefer to sit as close as possible to the front of my section so that I can get off the plane faster.
