  1. Emirates has NO "interline" agreement as far as I know. In any case, on your first point of entry in the USA, your case NYC (Looks as if it is JFK/Kennedy) you will have to go through both Immigration and THEN pick-up your luggage and THEN go through customs. After that there will be a "connecting flights" counter where you will check-in again including your NOW cleared luggage. And actually if in Emirates, you will fly= Addis Ababa, Ethiopia - Bole (ADD) TO Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Dubai International (DXB) TO New York, NY - John F Kennedy Intl (JFK)
  2. Hi, I the CTO of vayama.com, a leading International travel website. Emirates has a baggage agreement with Delta Airlines, so in theory you should be able to check your baggage through from Addis all the way to Providence. However, I need to know if you purchased your trip all as one ticket, or if you purchased it in two parts. If it is all one ticket, then you should be good. You will have to pass through customs in New York (probably JFK here). You will collect your bags, and then immediately drop them off at the Delta baggage recheck counter after customs. But you should not have to do any other rechecking at this point or go up to the ticket/checkin counter. * update * I just saw the previous post, and I think it is incorrect, that Emirates does not have an interline agreement. I checked in the Amadeus reservations (shown below) and Emirates (EK) has full interlining with Delta. Hope this helps, Bill
