Delta Fares

Check in extra bag with delta or ship via mail?

After spending a couple of months in the States I'm flying back to Europe (with Delta). I now have a box (in size about 10x20x15") filled with extra things that I bought or got during my stay. I am now trying to figure out the best way to get it to Europe. I could check it in as an extra bag on my flight (which would cost around $100 according to the Delta website) or ship it via mail. I ended up shipping the box via USPS (airmail 4-10 bus. days) for about $108 including insurance. some other prices I found online: DHL: $230 (2 bus. days) UPS: $236 (4 bus. days) Fedex: $212 (4 bus. days) USPS: $108 (4-10 bus. days)

  1. Unless it's really heavy stuff I would ship it. That's what I do... but I do it domestically, not international.
  2. It will cost you a lot more to ship it. Suck it up and pay the $100 the airline is going to charge. Its highway robbery but consider the alternative.....
  3. you might want to check with Fedex -we are pretty resonable for shipping stuff not sure of the cost since it goes by rate and distance and how fast you want it go get there
