Delta Airlines Check In Questions?

I just printed out my Receipt and Itinerary that Delta emailed me. I have 2 options to check in. One option is to check in Online 24 hours before the flight and the other option is using the self service Kiosk machine. I will only be bringing a carry on bag. Is checking in online faster than using the machine at the airport and is it fool proof? Does this mean I don't have to wait on line to be issued a boarding pass? I have not flown in several years so this is all new to me.

  1. I don't know what your preference is, but I prefer to use the kiosks at the airport for two reasons: 1) I don't have to print paperwork, and remember to bring it with me 2) The lines for the kiosks are usually pretty short and I get through pretty quickly. A caveat to that would be the fact that kiosks at the airport do require some type of flyer miles card, or major credit card to get started, and if you don't have these, you will have to wait in line for the check in desk. This doesn't mean that I don't check on the flight via internet before I head over to the airport. Sometimes there is a change in flight time, or a change in my connection, which is useful to know before I head out. Happy travels!
  2. well check at the counter desk no in the machine, maybe u got some lucky seat well i traveled with Delta to Korea and because the plane was full of soldiers they put me in first class!!! ole ole!! the guy only told me that i will enjoy my seat that is it!! otherwise if u want go to the computer always there is a Delata representative for help you have a nice travel
  3. I always use the online check in. You have your boarding pass in hand, so can just proceed directly through security. Plus, if you're running a little late, you're already checked in and don't have to worry about lines.
  4. You could do either or, but since all you have is carry-ons, it'd be faster to do online check-in. That way you just go through security and head to your gate. You will be shown in the computer system as a "virtual check-in," meaning you checked in online. But keep in mind you're still subject to the same flight cutoff times-- 10 minutes prior to departure you must be on board or your seat is subject to being released.
  5. I love online check in. Especially if I'm only taking carryon.
  6. online is preferred because you can do it from your home or anywhere 24 hrs before & you get all your boarding passes paperwork so you go straight to the security line. no other lines to stand in!!!!!! don't forget your id or passport!!!!!!
  7. This is a no brainer. Check in 24 hours before hand. Be sure to check for open seats as well so you can try to get in the best seat available. Print your boarding pass. The Kiosk does not require a card, you can type in your confirmation number of , If you have it, a frequent flyer number. But why bother with the Kiosk lines, just print your boarding pass and go through security. If you do not have a seat assigned, print your pass and go to the GATE to get your seat. Also, be nice to the gate agent and try to get a better seat if you can, exit row for example.
