  1. Cheap tickets are just that. Cheap…….they may or may not work for you……..take what your comfortable with…….and………will work for you……..cheap is as cheap gets……..
  2. dont bother with alitalia they are in administration
  3. cheap tickets arent just Delta & Alitalia(: there are many airlines that are cheap, just not at the moment. find the cheapest ones on expedia. if i were you id choose Delta 100 times over Alitalia. honestly, Alitalia is a bad airline. their service is terrible, their flight attendants are rude & snappy, on overseas flights they dont have enough blankets for economy people [this has happend 7 times to me with Alitalia], getting anything done with them over the phone & in person is horrible, their food is good [but you dont want awful service], their planes break down many times which cause delays, they are MOSTLY ALWAYS delayed, & they usually have late arrivals, its horrible. Delta is great with everything. good service, friendly people, & on time flights. Alitalia's food beats Deltas but everything else is so much better.
  4. There really is no easy answer to your question because of lack of information. No airline is always cheapest. Airlines limit the number of discount seats per flight. Therefore, Delta may be cheapest one day, Continental the next, and El Al the next.Fares can also vary dramatically by time of year. However, this is very easy to figure out. Go to Kayak.com and enter your dates. You can also try different dates to see how it affects your fare. Kayak shops many travel websites and combines the results, so it's very easy to shop around. The cheapest airline is often the most horrible. Good service costs money to provide, so you often have to choose which of those two you really want. I would forget about Alitalia. They're a financial disaster and are in the Italian equivalent of Chapter 11 bankruptcy. They were just bought by new owners, but it remains to be seen how that will affect things. Buying tickets on them is risky until they stabilize their finances. I would also avoid Delta. I used to fly them to Europe frequently on business (because my employer made me!) and their service simply was not competitive. I wouldn't fly them to Israel unless I was desperate. All other things equal, take a European carrier. They're usually much better than domestic airlines.
  5. The cheapest AIRLINE really varies on different dates, and it's difficult to tell which would be cheaper on any given date. Your best bet is BookMe.com. You can compare ALL the reputable travel sites, and save money. Good luck!
