Delta Fares

Can I bring a hair straightener in my carry on luggage on a delta flight?

I am only going on a short vacation for Thanksgiving and I have a layover and I don't want to take the chance of loosing my luggage. Also I am flying for free and if I get bumped well BYE BYE flat iron. Thanks so much (in advance) I won't loose it if I take it in a carry on. The airline might loose it.

  1. No dont bring it you wouldnt want to loose your hair straightner!
  2. Yes, you can have a hair straightener in your carry on. Check out the TSA website, they have good info on what you can and can't bring with you.
  3. Yes, you can bring it. Hair Straighteners aren't on TSA's list of prohibited items. Just look at their list of what you can and can't take in your carry-on (http://www.tsa.gov then click 'for travelers'), and as long as you follow those rules, you should be fine. But a note on the liquid & gel ban: You can only have one quart size bag of liquids/gels/aerosols, which means stuff like toothpaste, shaving cream, lip gloss, liquid foundation, etc., and all that stuff has to be 3.4 ounces or less. But look at the list, and if there's something that you want to take that isn't on the list, it should be fine. If all else fails, call the airport and see if you can talk to someone from TSA at the airport you'll be flying through. Have a happy Thanksgiving!
  4. you can bring it in your carryin on i am also flying in dec. and im takin my flat iron in my carry on :) and is also w. delta
  5. People in America complain about long security lines and yet people insist on taking all their luggage as carry on items. If I can do a 24 hour flight with one small carry on bag I don't see why anyone else should be different.
