Is there any way to convert Delta Skile Miles to American Airline Miles?
I also have American Express rewards points to use, but I need to fly American Airlines and don't have enough points to buy the ticket outright - I'm using a Citibank AAdvantage card already. Just trying to figure out a way to use what I already have rather than spend money on points that I'll earn within the next year.

- Unfortunately no you could always open up a new credit card with whatever card is offering a carrier you need to fly's miles and get all those bonus points for just opening the card. Then just cut it up when it comes.
- There is no way to convert one airline's miles to anothers, but if you contact Delta directly, they probably have a partnership with American Airlines so that you can use Delta miles to book a flight flown by American. As for the American Express miles, I've heard that you can convert them to other airline miles but I'm not 100% sure that is true...really the best way to find out what your options are there would be to call American Express directly. Good luck! Oh, and just a heads up on the above answer...this is an ok idea if you are not needing to travel right away. The bonus miles usually take at least one billing cycle to appear in your account!
- Further proof that working for an airline has no bearing on knowing anything about the industry. Anyway... first, AA and DL do NOT have any partnerships or arrangements, so that's out. Your only hope is using points.com to swap at a horrible exchange rate, but at a quick glance it doesn't look like you can swap between AA and DL.
