Delta Connecting flight checking luggage?
I'm flying from Cincinnati To Germany, with a connection in Detroit. Will i need to check bags again in detroit before connecting to germany or are the check all the way to Germany? Then how does it work on the way home? some connections.

- Your bags will be transferred automatically when you are leaving the country so you do not have to worry about anything on your flight out. However, US Customs will require you to collect your bags on your first point of entry into the United States (thats pretty much universal across the globe). Then you will clear customs and re-check your baggage on your flight back home.
- No, you will not need to check your bags again. You will only need to check you bags once from your departing airport in Cincinnati. Then, once you arrive at your airport in Germany, you will claim them there. It works the same way when you are coming home. However, lets say that your first flight from Cincinnati --> Detroit arrives in Airport X. If your Detroit --> Germany flight departs from Airport Y (also in Detroit), you may need to check your bags again. This happens a lot when I connect in New York City. I'll leave home, arrive in NYC at LGA but will have to depart from JFK, so I have to take a taxi. In that case, you will need to recheck your bags. But if the airport in Detroit is the same for both the arrival from Cincinnati and the departure to Germany, you should not have to recheck bags.
