Delta Fares

complaining to delta for free vouchers?

Back in February my family and I took a trip to orlando for a vacation. The flight back was delayed and we had horrible turbulence. Would I be able to write a letter to Delta and see if I can't get some kind of compensation? Or do you think I waited to long? My grandmother missed a flight on Delta in April and wrote a letter and got full compensation for the flight. Thanks for your input. my grandmother and grandfather were being pushing in wheelchairs and didnt make the flight. they were at a layover

  1. The flight back was probably delayed because of the weather, sometimes people don't realize but it's better to wait for weather to improve rather than risk an accident while at 30,000 feet :( Turbulence is not the fault of an airline (be it Delta, AA, JAL or any other) weather patterns change by the second + given the speed planes go it's unpredictable. As for your grandma missing a flight, it sucks, but did she get there with time to spare or is she the type who gets there at the last minute and expects to bring 6 suitcases on board? More information is needed.
  2. To get compensation the Delta would have to be responsible. If you beleive that the turbulence was so bad that the flight should not have gone ahead then you may have a case. Or if you believe that Delta could/should have warned you before take-off so you could have chosen not to fly. With regard to the delayed flight - how long was it delayed. If it was a couple of hours then you have no case; if it was delayed for a day or 2 then you have a chance.
  3. Wow. Just Wow.
