How many bags can you check with Delta?

Im flying a Delta flight next week and I have my purse as my carry on and my suitcase as one bag, can I also take my duffle bag as another one to check? Im 14, all I know is that Im checking in at the airport... I just checked delta.com and the size of the duffle is 18(length) by 9(width) by 10 (height) approximately. So could I take that as my carry-on for the overhead and have my purse under the seat in front of me?

1. Unless you are a Delta AMEX card holder or flying first class, all checked baggage carry a price. If you do online checkin, you will only pay $23 for the first one. Just go to www.delta.com and go to your reservation, (24 hours before your flight at the earliest) go to the check in, list it as 1 checked bag, print your boarding pass and head to the airport. When you get to the airport, look for the "baggage drop" station, where they print the label for your checked bag and you would be all set. 2. Don't check the bag. A purse is considered a personal item, and can be brought in addition to a carry-on bag. So, your duffel bag is your carry-on and your purse is the personal item. Have a great trip!
