Delta Airlines...HELP please? Rewards ticket question?
My dad use his skymiles to get a set on our vacation and in the confirmation site where it lists the seat you sit in, it says "not assigned" for every flight. Does this mean my dad may not get a seat if the flight happens to be overbooked? He used the to get a seat, not a set...sorry

- There is a chance that the flight is oversold. Delta tends to overbook their flights. Sometimes there may be seats when you check-in. I suggest you go early and see if there are still seats left. Sometimes someone may have changed their reservations or canceled.
- That means that he has no seat specifically assigned to him. He will be on the flight though. Just log onto delta.com, click "Itineraries & Check-in", and then he can get his seat assigned. But, he does have a seat on the flight. Good luck!
- If the flight is oversold, people with no assigned seats are the first ones to be bumped. I would definitely call the airline to have seats assigned. If the award flight is on a partner airline then this is normal, as Delta can't book seat assignments on a Qantas flight but they can sell a Qantas ticket for skymiles; if the flight is operated by a partner then call the partner airline.
- 1- Its "IS" over-sold 2- Check the reservation frequently at delta.com 3- Call 48 hours in advance to the reservation center and ask the CSR that you want to choose the seats. 4- Check-in 24 hours before the flight's departure at delta.com 5- Be at least 2 hours at the airport's check-in counter 6- Enjoy your flight!
