- Assuming you're in coach class, I would say no. If it is anything like Northwest Airlines, which merged with Delta a few years ago, the staff is unfriendly and seems not to care about you even a bit and the seats are cramped and uncomfortable on most of their planes. They do give you a small snack (Biscoff cookies or pretzels, I believe) and there may be other snacks for purchase at a ridiculous price, depending on how long the flight is. My advice is don't buy any extra snacks unless you are really hungry-the snack boxes are a complete waste of your money. For the price of a snack box, you could buy double the food at the grocery store. The fruit and cheese platter is okay, if they offer that, I would get it. They also offer sandwiches, which are just plain old sandwiches with a ridiculous price, nothing special really. The airplanes are of average age. Some are old Northwest plane repainted to match Delta's colors. As far as getting you to your destination, that's pretty much it. That's what you get. There is no onboard entertainment unless you are flying one of their larger planes, which have seatback TVs. Of course, you will have to pay for that, too. On the bright side, They have only lost my luggage once and they are a little above average, I would say, with on-time flights. Unfortunately, I will be flying miserably with Delta again this summer because they were chepest to my destination. Hope I helped!
- There's nothing wrong with Delta. While what the first poster is mostly true, it is no different than any other airline. Gone are the days personal service. Unless you fly 1st class/Business, it is very much like a Greyhound bus with wings. But that what it is across all airlines, not just Delta.
- Delta is a decent "legacy" airline. Currently the world's largest airline (until the Continental-United merger is completed), they fall short of what they once were. Once it was a proud airline and their service was second to none. Then they bought Pan-Am and brought in the Pan-Am people, and it was never quite as good after that. Last year they bought and integrated Northwest (NWA) into their system, and I've never seen a bunch of people more angry at the world than those who work for NWA. Delta is having some challenges working everything into this integration, but they'll get you to Mexico and they'll do it about as well as anyone else.
- I flew on Delta today twice. I have good things to say about them. There seats were very much first class for coach, I hurt my leg and they gave me some ice and hurting my leg was my own fault they were very attentive to that. ALso I missed my flight and they gave me a new ticket with no charge. They also serve yummy my favorite drink which is tomato juice and give you a snack as well. THey also didn't have enough space for carry on sot hey let everyone put it under the flight. So they were very good. Also my flight was very inexpensive... On the bad side, sure they don't have meals for domestic but united didnt give me a snack but delta gave me some biscottis and pretzels as well a drink. I like united since you can listen to music. but delta is a good airline.
