If I keep getting a credit card and canceling before the next year sign on fee will it do damage to my credit?
I keep getting the delta sky miles card and canceling my card before the end of the first year so I don't have to pay the annual fee (first year is free). I know this helps me gain a lot of discount air fare, but is this damaging to my credit score?

- I'm not an expert on credit, but I do know that length of your credit history plays a factor in your score. Closing an account will decrease your history, and therefore hurt your score. You should always keep your longest credit account open for this reason.
- It will not do you any good. You need to get a card and utilize it over a long period of time to build up a history.
- Everytime you apply for a credit card, you damage your credit score, whether or not you actually get the credit card.
