Can you become a JAL flight attendant from america or do you have to go to japan to become one there?

well flight attendants inspired me since i was little i've moved alot and rode planes alot and it was so cool to watch flight attendants all walking together their all so pretty and cool SO ANYWAY getting to my point im a high school sophomore and im thinking of wanting to become a flight attendant what are some requirements? i want to work for JAL or Delta mostly JAL i live in US and JAL is a japanese airline so can you still apply from here and get in??? i speak fluent japanese because i lived there for 6yrs but im indian and also what are the schedule for flight attendants do they go to the same places everytime? i know i should be concentrating on my studies but im curious =]

  1. not really answering your question, but JAL is about to dump 1/3 of its employees, as it shrinks in bankruptcy. The airline industry is--as always--very unstable. If I was you, I'd look at ANA--they're not doing so hot either, though. Get done with school and see how the landscape looks then. Good luck!
  2. I agree with the prior poster, but no- youd have to go to the location of the airline- in this case Tokyo. You dont as a new f.a. (if you even get a job anywhere, which right now is impossible), you dont get a choice as to the routes you fly on- thus your get ones in Asia. You need to know Japanese fluently as well.
  3. As been posted, JAL is in bankruptcy and laying off and domestic carriers are not hiring F/A's - concentrate on your studies and find another career path......
