Delta Fares

Is there anyone way I can change the dates of my Delta Airlines flight without charge?

I just recently spent all my disposable income on a flight to Atlanta yesterday. Though, I got a call today from my friend in Atlanta this morning that she will be in Indiana on the day I arrive for a week because her husband is moving there for another job, and she needs to attend a physical. I went to change my ticket to a week later and it doesn't seem like I can get around the 150.00 USD surcharge. Anyone have any ideas/any luck on calling the airlines to have a fee waived, especially since the reservation was made only a day ago?

  1. Call Delta. They will charge you a hefty $150.00 sum for changing the flight (if they even agree to do it). You should have bought traveler's insurance upon purchasing the ticket. This would have avoided any additional charges. A lot of times if you make a big enough stink they will agree to help you. Call repeatedly and explain your dilemma to as many people as possible.
  2. Good luck. Pretty much the only airline that I know of that lets you change without a surcharge is Southwest.
  3. I don't think you have a "cat in hell's" chance of getting away without paying the $150 fee. This is how the airline claw back costs of operating call centres, etc.. and why they want you to do all you bookings online, so you make the mistakes and not them!
  4. Within 24 hours of booking, you can CANCEL with NO penalties. So if you bought it yester-day, you have until 24:00 mid-night to-day EST to cancel. If NOT a 150 to 250 fee will apply and the rest is a credit. You do not get you money back!
