What's going on with the lines at the airports today?

I'm sitting in New Orleans right now and the lines at Air Tran, Delta, and American are all out the door. I was just wondering if anyone knew what was the big deal in the aviation world today!

1. I'm in the same position as those airlines today! There's a huge winter storm stretching from Tennessee all the way up to Boston! It's causing thousands of delayed flights and hundreds of cancelled ones. Those lines at the airports are because flights from the hub cities of Atlanta and Dallas all have tons of cancelled flights up to the Northeast today. It's not a good day to want to fly to New York!
