Delta Fares

Help me quick...Delta Air Lines stock!?

Throughout the bankruptcy/ reorganization, I have held appx 180 shares. They have fluctuated, now the ticker (DALRQ) shows .018 each share for a total of $3.24! does this stock just dissappear, or will it begin to go back up when the sale begins again today? What can I do at this point? Yes- I am in for the long haul- Just needing to know that all my shares won't just dissappear! OH YEH- I have had the shares for about 4 years now, and they were not in bankruptcy at the time of the purchase. OK- Thank you all for the answers! Please try to remember that you are here to help- not to be judgemental. People should not have to explain their experience or portfolio to Yahoo Answers to get a straight answer. I do have a varied portfolio, including 529 plans, mutual funds, and other index funds, and this was just extra money we had at the time. No real loss, and at the opening rate, we may well invest again.

  1. You probably should have sold your shares long ago. But I would imagine that its shares will increase over the next few years since it has gotten out of bankruptcy and is on the verge of a new marketing campaign. Good luck!!
  2. I would just let it run it's course . What more can you lose, it's not worth anything anyway . It can only go one way and that is UP . Anyway for what it's worth, good luck .
  3. You lose it all. The shares have already been cancelled (last Friday) and are worth zip, nada, zero, nothing, they are gone. If you have a stock certificate, frame it, hang it on a wall and use it as a bad example of investing. Buying individual stocks is not a "buy and forget" type of thing. You must stay aware of the latest news. PS: You will not get any "new shares." You have to buy them all over again.
  4. it's now DALRQ.PK but your shares are worthless,, didn't they keep telling you they was bankrupt? and the shares would be worthless?? At least you can take the loss against other income, so if you are paying 10% federal tax,, your stock loss is worth something.
  5. they will be worthless. when delta comes out of bankrupcy they will sell new shares under the symbol DAL and no they will not replace your old shares with new ones. im sorry to say this but if you didnt know that you have no business buying stocks on your own. invest in a mutual or index fund and let pros handle your money, and in the mean time study until you understand stocks and investing a little better. SORRY!!
