Delta Air Lines Baggage Problems?

How many people out in America and the world have experienced lost or delayed baggage with Delta Air Lines? It appears from my friends and my own personal experience that Delta Air Lines has given up on the customer comes first and that money comes first and the customers can be damned! Please comment in depth with specific dates and flight numbers whenever possible. I plan to invite Delta Air Lines executives to address this question as well.

  1. Delta Air has discovered that it's costs just as much to ship 40 pieces of lost luggage as it does one. The best thing to do is avoid Delta (even their fine print says they don't take responsibility for luggage lost less than 24 hours). I purposely avoid Delta, and then realized it was a "Delta Partner" when I got to the airport. Of course, even though I was 3 hours early for my flight, my luggage didn't get on the plane (from Greensboro, NC 6/8/07 to Cincinnati, OH). I spent hours arguing with Delta employees, and Expedia employees, and got no where. I will never fly Northwest or Delta, or book with Expedia ever again.
  2. I flew Delta airlines in 2004 in 4 different planes and had absolutely NO prolem with them.I'm sure it's just a bad experience that you had.
  3. I've never had a problem with Delta, and I fly them domestic and international. American lost my bags once, but got them to me in 2 days. I have stopped flying with US Air and United though because of frequent problems with luggage and rude employees. Personally, I avoid Travelocity and Expedia because I find I can do just as well on airline's own website and it's one less chance for problems. Sadly, with fewer non-stops and more connecting flights these days, the risk of lost and delayed luggage can only get worse.
  4. Ive been flying with Delta for about 4 years. Never had a problem. Its my favorite airline, (only airline)
