When will my bonus miles post?

I have an American Express Platinum Delta Skymiles card that I just received, and I thought I was suppose to get 20,000 bonus miles after the first purchase. Anyone know when that might post to my Skymiles account? I am also wondering if anyone knows when I am suppose to get my companion certificate that comes with it? Thanks for the help.

1. It should state on your agreement when those miles will post. Most likely it will take a couple of billing cycles before they post them and give the free tickets. They will probably wait to ensure you are not going to close the account
