When am I going to know my flight's gate numbers?

I bought plane tickets on Travelocity for Delta airlines. My departure is scheduled on August 15th and when look at my itinerary on Delta I only see the terminal number but for the gate number I see N/A. Does anyone know anything about? Or do I find out the gate number about a day or two before the trip?

1. You'll have it printed on your boarding pass, after you make the check-in at the airport.
2. you will find out which gate your flight is departing from once you recieve your boarding pass at the check in desk.
3. Gate numbers are assigned few days or even the day of or few hours before he flight. Gate number is subject to change based on availability, flights that are delayed may use the gate for long time. Mostly they are not too far away anyways. within the same terminal you should be able to get to it within an hour. even when you are at the airport it might say n/a or waiting... its normal... ask when you are checking in, mostly they have it printed on your boarding pass. if you have connection flight, that flight might not be as singed one yet.. the pilot will announce the connection flight info or you can ask once you disembark. 5. Sometimes it will be printed on your boarding pass, other times you will need to wait until closer to boarding, and check the screens for details of the gate no.
6. Day of departure. No one knows for sure before that. Even then it could change. What good would it do you to know the gate now? You can't go there.
