Narita Airport Customs? Money Exchange?
I am flying into Narita on a Sunday at 3:00. I have a reservation for the airport bus limosine at 5:00. Is 2 hours enough time to get my luggage and go through customs. How long does customs usually take arriving from the United States in Tokyo? Also, does anyone know what terminal United Airlines gets into. I'm trying to pre-plan where to find the Airport Bus Limousine counter before I get there so I'm not overwhelmed. The reservation on the bus is through a tour company so I have to take it. Are there places to exchange dollars into yen in Terminal 1? If so, what is the place called and can you describe how to get there from leaving customs?

- Two hours should be plenty of time; they're pretty efficient there. However, United is not so efficient, having one of the worst on-time records in US airlines. I flew into Terminal 1; a bit of research shows their gates are 31-47: http://www.unitedairlines.co.jp/core/english/SI/airportinfo/airportmaps/tokyo.html
- 2 hours is more then enough to go through Immigration and Customs. Immigration is what holds lines up rather then customs. Note that it is usually unnecessary to reserve bus or train tickets in advance if you are coming from Narita Airport. Usually there are plenty of buses and trains available, not withstanding there's always a chance your plane might be delayed etc.
- I think 2 hours is enough for custom and immigration at Narita Airport. United Airline will arrive at Ternimal 1 of Narita. What is your "money exchange" question? There are exchange buros at Narita.
- http://www.unitedairlines.co.jp/core/english/SI/airportinfo/naritaInfo.html All UA flights use the South Wing of Terminal 1 of the airport. http://www.narita-airport.jp/en/guide/map/index_t1.html http://www.limousinebus.co.jp/en/index.html Japanese standard time 3PM has no air flight arrival of UA on Sunday at Narita. Are you sure it is really 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon when you arrive at Narita? Anyway, It is plenty of time to catch the bus reserved at 5PM if it is really 3PM arrival there. It will take less than 30minutes to clear Immigration and Customs unless you are criminal. Money exchangers are available just next to Customs and the counter of Limousine bus is opposite side across the hallway there. It's simple and easy to find out without any problem for first timer.
