Delta Fares

I'm 17, is my plane ticket half off?

I was just reading from the united airlines website: http://www.cheapflights.com/airlines/united-airlines/ And somewhere down on the page I found this: Child Fares One infant, under two years old, can travel for free within the U.S., San Juan, U.S. Virgin Islands and Canada when accompanied by an adult. Call the reservations number to inform the airline that the child will be traveling on your lap. Children can also travel in a seat for 50 per cent of the price of an adult ticket. To purchase a seat for an infant, call the reservations number listed below. Children five to seven can travel unaccompanied on non-stop and direct routes and children eight to 12 can travel unaccompanied on all United flights. Fees apply for unaccompanied minors. Children 12 to 17 are allowed to travel as adults. I turn 17 in march, and I can leave in maybe late may early june. Does that mean that my ticket is half price off for a trip to china for the summer if I reserve a seat super early? My little brother is 8 and will be until july, does he get half price too? We are Canadian citizens living in Massachusetts if that helps. I thought it just meant that I was ALLOWED to travel alone. ;'(
