Do Delta flight attendants receive free unlimited travel for themselves and family?
I'm aware of what their website says, but it does not go in to specifics. Is there a limit to the free travel? I know there has to be an open seat, but can you only do it a certain number of times a year?

- you can fly anytime and whenever you want...you are just on standby...so you wait for an open seat. you and your immediate family fly for free, you can get free tickets to give friends/other family...but you can only get a certain amount a year (not sure of the amount). but as far as you and you immediate family (parents, kids, husband), you fly for free anytime. its a great perk of being a flight attendant : )
- Most airlines offer this perk for employees and their immediate families. Some carriers offer free flight or greatly reduced for their parents as well. While flying for free is great, it not great not flying stand by. Most of the time stand by passengers have to leave earlier and/or return later than regular passengers i.e. Leaving Thursday night and returning Sunday morning or Tues returning. Basically leaving and returning when most others don't.
- Sure, all companies set limits, though they might say that flights are unlimited. Delta is not an exception. Then it comes the availability problem, because they offer free flights when 1) there are available places in the airplane 2) hierarchical order, which means that if you are on the lowest level, first the manager will get in and then if there is place, you can travel too 3) if your schedule is too heavy you will travel so much that you won't have time to use the free tickets and go to vacation.
