What is the safest way to store an Irish dance dress on our Delta flight to Ireland?
We are afraid of allowing it to go as regular baggage. Is that safe? It is too big for overhead. What option do we have and how do we get Delta to help out?

- Find out if they have an area for hanging a suit bag as carry on luggage. Sometimes they do! Let them know that you're traveling with a dress that you want to keep with you and safe.
- I would definitely carry it on. The size of a garment bag is typically ok for carry on. Most planes have a section up near first class for the business folks to hang suits and such. You might want to call ahead and verify that your plane will have this. Also, tell them when you are checking in.
- Isn't that like carrying coal to Newcastle? Regular baggage is just as safe as anything else in this world. Stuff happens. You could carry it on in a garment bag and put it in the overhead or hang it if they have room.
- hi well my dancing class traveled to America and our dancing teacher called up the flight people and told them what we were doing and what they were and how much they cost and they said yes so we put them in travel bags and they let us carry 12 dresses onto the flight and we went on two so if you don't know the number call up the airport and i am sure they will put you through hope this helps
- Check with Delta if they have a coat closet on your flight. If they do, ask nicely and they'll let you hang it in there.
