Why is AEromexico more expensive than delta on certain flights?

. just wondering why the more money to like the same destinations.....from atl to mexico its like almost 200 more than if u fly with delta WHy?...

1. Airlines have some seats that are sold at the lower fares. When those seats sell out, you'd have to buy up to the next higher fare. Aeromexico , DL as well as other airlines operating from ATL to Mexico usually have the same fares because they compete with each other. But it looks like more people prefer to fly with Aeromexico and they have sold out of their cheaper fares faster than other airlines. So for your question... Aeromexico's fares are the same as Delta's. But they seem to be more popular. Could be better service than Delta!
2. AeroMexico and Delta are an alliance actually...along with several othger airlines, called the SkyTeam. And depending on routes, AMX will fly larger aircraft than DAL. DAL usually flies 737s and MD-88s, while AMX operates 757s or 767s, and for international routes, 777s. DAL uses mainly 767s on internationals, but for domestic, AMX has a tendency to go big. Bigger aircraft = more fuel, weight, luggage, etc. therefore, the companies must charge more per passenger to operate. Hope i answered your question well enough!
