Changing a flight to another date?

I am scheduled to fly out of an area on the last day of feb. What do I do if I want to change the flight for a later date? Will it cost me more or not I am going through Delta I am flying back to Switzerland

1. You can simply call up your airline and ask them. They are used to customers changing their schedules because of unplanned emergencies. You might have to pay a fee and the day you want to change to may be more expensive than the day you already have booked. I always have a gold card or platinum card with NWA and have had to change flights and didn't get any extra charges. Once I had to enter the hospital on an emergency basis and they were very accommodating. Give the airline a call and ask about it. You will eventually have to talk to them anyway. I have gone to the airport a day early and found the airlines helpful in trying to fit me in (pending snowstorms.) Good luck.
2. it will cost you a fee to change, unless you got a flexible ticket. changing dates can be easy, but can be very difficult if you want to change to a busy time of the travelling year. make sure you know of all the fees and charges before you make any commitments to changing the date of travel. you should ring the airline call centre - or if purchased through a travel agent, then go to them.
