Since I purchased our airline tickets way ahead of the flight...?

Since I purchased our airline tickets (Delta) nearly 8 months in advance of the scheduled flight --before all the talk of new luggage fees, will I now have to pay for my luggage since rules have changed? Or do I have nothing to worry about since when I bought them it was included? Can they change that on me? Ohio to Florida.

1. I'm pretty sure you won't have to pay any extra. It also depends where you're flying to. If you're flying within the US there has been extra luggage charges but if you're flying US to Canada the charges do not apply since you are flying to a different country.
2. If you purchased your ticket before the new luggage fees, then you should not be charged any because the rule went into place after you bought your ticket.
3. After checking the Delta site (http://www.delta.com/traveling_checkin/baggage/baggage_allowance/index.jsp), I can confirm that you will get 1 free checked bag either way, and if you purchased your ticket before April 9, 2008, you will get a second bag free as well. For what it's worth, I would STRONGLY recommend printing out that page and taking it with you to te airport-- it's not a guarantee the policy won't change in the future, however you will be less likely to be coerced into paying for the 2nd changed bag if you can show the person at the desk the policy.
