Delta Fares

Question regarding a friend flying with me on Friday with the same itinerary and confirmation number?

As an early christmas present I bought a round trip ticket for me and a buddy of mine to go skiing in Utah. However due to some unforeseen circumstances, there is a chance he might not be able to make it. He wont know until basically several hours before are scheduled departure. By him being a possible no-show, will this have any effect on my round trip ticket? I guess more importantly, if he didn't show, would Delta automatically cancel my return flight home because we have the same confirmation number?

1. Call Delta and say you need to divide out your reservation. They will take you and him and split you up and you will each have a different reservation number. That way if he can't make it, then it won't have any effect at all on yours. Nothing should happen if he doesn't show up, but if you need to make a change to the reservation after the flight leaves, then they will divide the PNR out for you in order to change anything on it!
