What Happens If a Airline causes me to miss a Connecting Flight from Another Airline?
I'm taking a trip in a few months and the Flight has one Connection in SFO (san fran, california). I will be taking Delta to SFO and then Asiana Airlines to Seoul, Korea. With a 1hr 30min wait between the two flights. If something were to cause my Delta Flight to be delayed, is there any recourse I can take? Or should I just schedule my flight to have ample time between Connections. "forwhatitsworth" does it matter if I am buying the tickets from expedia in a package type deal?

- Always schedule your flight with ample transfer time; I give it a two-hour minimum. If the first flight is delayed, they have to do their best to put you on the next available flight.
- If all flights are on one booking then you will be entitled to a free transfer onto the next flight. If you have made two diffrent bookings and you miss your connections, well you will need to "fix" it yourself.
- I would highly not recommend what you are doing because: 1) Delta has no partnership with Asiana (although they do have a partnership with Korean Air who flies from San Francisco - Seoul as well) , and if you miss the flight, you might end up going through what these people did: http://articles.latimes.com/2008/mar/30/travel/tr-money30 2) I don't think 1h 30m is enough time to catch the Asiana flight because you'll have to go from T1 (which Delta uses) to International, checkin, and go thru security. Checkin & security could take a while if lines are long and the airport staff is really taking a while to process passengers. If lines are long, you'll probably have to rush to get your Asiana flight. Hope I've helped, enjoy your trip!
