Any idea why some airlines charge fees when you make your reservations on the phone? United Airlines just charged me $15 for a domestic flight because I made my reservation on the phone. I am travelling with a pet and they reccomend that the reservations should be made on the phone, as opposed to on the internet. Any idea why the additional $15? This is a domestic travel
I'm flying with my dog from NYC to Denver on United Airlines. What health certificate do I need to bring? I already made reservations for my toy poodle to go with me in the passenger cabin. I called United Airlines to ask them what health certificates specfically I had to bring, but the person on the other line was lost and didn't know what I was talking about. So, has anyone flown domestically (USA) with a small dog as carry-on on United? Do I need to take my dog to the vet within 10 days of departure for a health certificate? And I'm going to be in Denver for 7 days, so do I have to take him to the vet there, too, for another documentation? Thanks! Is there anything else I should know from experienced flyers?
Can anyone find United Airlines Corporate phone number? I've tried over and over again, but I just get reservations in India. I want to speak to a Customer Service person in corporate but they do a great job of hiding that phone number
Requesting schedules for United Express and want to make reservations for two.? We have two free ticket vouchers (UAL) to use for r/t travel from Rockford, IL (RFD) to Phoenix, AZ (PHX) via DEN. Need flight reservations as follows: Depart RFD 4/5/06 Flt.6614 to DEN Arrive PHX 4/5/06 Flt.1449 Depart PHX 4/12/06 Flt. 1478 to DEN Arrive RFD 4/12/06 Flt. 6687 These would be on United Express Airline Names: FenwickE. Lind Theresa Heinrich Need confirmation asap for planning purposes. UAL has not been helpful at all, and this "free ticket voucher" has every appearance of being a scam. We volunteered giving up our seats to Fla. last year in return for r/t domestic travel.
United Airlines opens Palmdale CA flights??!? anyone have an idea how to get an application for employment in now for the Palmdale location? I called reservations and the customer support lines and no one even knows they're starting to fly form here! No info is posted on their employment site either. Please only answer with informative responses. No information is on their employment website for Palmdale.
Can I do this with my flight reservations? I have a flight booked for Friday afternoon on United Airlines, but something came up and it would be better if I left Saturday morning. If I pretended that I mixed up my dates and just showed up at the airport on Saturday morning to go standby, would I be penalized by United?
I need a number for United Airlines... for someone in the U.S.? I am having major issues with my reservation and everytime i call the customer service line i get someone who can't understand what i am saying and i can't understand them. What jobs are offered for United Airlines in Denver? Is there a Mileage Plan building or Reservations office located in Denver? Site looks good, but doesn't note what positions are In Denver. The job would be for my girl when we move to Denver after we're done with school in the next 2 years. Frontier looked good, but they have an all Airbus fleet, here in Seattle, Boeing is a great source of industry. I just can't find another airline that has a Milage Plan, Reservations, or Customer Care building in Denver. It looks like United has their HQ in Chicago, but I can't tell if they have any offices in Denver.
I reserved a return flight ticket on a domestic United airlines flight. If I miss my departure flight, would ret? Would they automatically cancel the whole of my booking? My concern is that I don't wanna take the departure flight but I need to take the return flight back so I don't want that part of my journey to get cancelled. Also, I don't wanna pay 150 bucks to cancel the first part of my journey. Does somebody know the policy United follows if I don't show up for the first part (departure) of my reservation? thanks everyone. I had to eventually pay a change fee..
Will the airline check the bag all the way to my final destination? I am planning to book a multi-city trip itinerary on United Airlines. My planned flight itinerary is: Los Angeles -Washington Dulles Washington Dulles-London London- Los Angeles I planning on listing out each segment individually rather than have United show on the itinerary that there is a connected flight; though all the segments are under the same reservation. My question is: Will the airline tag my baggage all the way to London, or will I have to pickup the bag in Washington Dulles and check it in again? Thanks for your help.
can u identify the problems and give solution to this? can reservation sys. be unfair? American airlines and United Airlines developed reservation systems used by their own ticketing agents and by travel agents in booking flights. When a customer calls to book a flight, the agent enters information into a computer concerning the date and time of flights required. The system displays the flights that meet these criteria, and the agent presents the choices to the customer. In 1984, several of their competitors sued American and United, claiming that these reservation systems constituted unfair competition. The competitors claimed that American and United charged excessive fees for including competing airlines flights in the system. Also, they asserted that American and United limited competitor’s participation and displayed competitors’ flight after displaying their own. Not surprisingly, busy travel agents were more likely to book these flights instead of looking further for flights on the other airlines that might be as good or better for customers. American and United countered that their use of these systems was not unfair competition. Rather, they had decided to invest in these systems many years earlier, and after years of work were now enjoying the fruit of these investments. That same year, American and United agreed to discontinue preferential treatment for their own flights in screen displays used by travel agents.

SHOULD I CHANGE MY CONNECTOR FLIGHT TO MYRTLE ON SATURDAY MORNING? Right now, with Hanna spinning around out there, I'm considering changing my airline reservations. Right now I'm connecting through Washington DC on Saturday morning (will the hurricane detain me there?) or should I change my reservations and connect through Charlotte? (more inland .. and further south)? I hate the idea of being stuck in the airport but the question is, which one would be the better of the two evils? Any ideas? I'm flying United Airlines but the Charlotte connector is a USAir flight.

How to get a airfare ticket refunded from United? I made reservations on last Thursday night for 2 1 way flights from Salt Lake City to Omaha, and accidentally made them for March 12th instead of April 26th because of United Airline's annoying-to-use website. The tickets cost around $130 each, and the ticket change fee is an OUTRAGEOUS $150 per ticket. The tickets are non-refundable, they tell me. It is SO bullshit. I called and talked to several indian service reps who could barely speak english, and got nowhere. So, basically, I am out around $300. *sai* ... Anyone have any ideas what I should do? Any way that I could get ANY money back would be helpful. Barring that, anyone need Airline tickets from Salt Lake City to Omaha in a week or so?? Or know how/where I could sell them for ANY money?
Need help to sue United Airline!? Dear friends here,I think I dsperately need you help.I was illtreated by United Airline. I bought a rounf trip tickets from them, but on my way back they transfer me to AirChina, which I agree. Before I go I have checked with UA to make sure about everything. When I was at the airport, I was told there is no seat, no reservation for me.Besides, it was midnight, the superviser of UA even refuse to rearrange me a plane and no hotel arrangement either that night. I thought I would like to sue them to let them at least make apologies. If there is a lawyer or who are familiar with such kind of things, please do me a favor to let me know who I should turn to help. Thank you. please help me.A ppreciate your kind heart.Thank you.
Redeeming American Airlines travel voucher for international travel? I recently cancelled my business class reservation on an American Airlines flight due to last minute changes and I was given a $2700 travel voucher. A couple of questions: a) Can i purchase a international ticket using the voucher? b) Can I use it for purchasing any AA codeshare flights Eg: United/BA? c) Does it has to be American metal all the way or can include code-share flights?
Find the probability that when 200 reservations are accepted...statistics help? "United flight 15" has 182 seats. Because some people with reservations don't show up, United can overbook by accepting more than 182 reservations. Assume that there is a 0.0995 probability that a passenger with a reservation will not show up for the flight. Also assume that the airline accepts 200 reservations for the 182 seats that are available. Find the probability that when 200 reservations are accepted, there are more passengers showing up than there are seats available. Is the probability of overbooking small enough so that it does no happen very often, or does it seem too high so that changes must be made to make it lower? Now use trial and error to find the maximum number of reservations that could be accepted so that the probability of having more passengers than seats is 0.05 or less. Thank you.
So where were you on 9/11 Sept 11, 2001? I can't get the day outta my mind. It changed my life forever. I lost a good friend. Had two ppl panicked because they saw the towers collapse. I was standing in my bathroom getting ready for an interview with of all things, United Airlines as a reservation agent. Needless to say I never made the interview. The phone rings and it's my best friend. She said "look at your TV Cherie, cuz something weird is going on with the planes" Then my phone line dies. I try to call my hubby on cell phone, it doesn't work either. two days later I find my friend dead, other two friends make it out o.k. but wondering where you were and what you were doing?

What Airline is better? I have been flying United Airlines with my family and we are all Preimer but the last flight I was on they "lost" my reservation. Also can I transfer my Permier status over to a new airline?
ok another lovely travel question. I have a friend who is traveling to vegas with us as a group....? She is 400 plus pounds and had to cancel her reservations for united because of there too fat to fly policy. This is a sensitive area so if u have negative feed back don't bother but are there any airlines who don't have this policy?
I'm 17, is my plane ticket half off? I was just reading from the united airlines website: http://www.cheapflights.com/airlines/united-airlines/ And somewhere down on the page I found this: Child Fares One infant, under two years old, can travel for free within the U.S., San Juan, U.S. Virgin Islands and Canada when accompanied by an adult. Call the reservations number to inform the airline that the child will be traveling on your lap. Children can also travel in a seat for 50 per cent of the price of an adult ticket. To purchase a seat for an infant, call the reservations number listed below. Children five to seven can travel unaccompanied on non-stop and direct routes and children eight to 12 can travel unaccompanied on all United flights. Fees apply for unaccompanied minors. Children 12 to 17 are allowed to travel as adults. I turn 17 in march, and I can leave in maybe late may early june. Does that mean that my ticket is half price off for a trip to china for the summer if I reserve a seat super early? My little brother is 8 and will be until july, does he get half price too? We are Canadian citizens living in Massachusetts if that helps. I thought it just meant that I was ALLOWED to travel alone. ;'(
time limit on changing flight...? I read on cheapticket that you are able to change flight after ticket are issued depend on which plane company you will be flying. FROM CHEAPTICKETS.COM Is there a time limit on changing a flight? American Airlines: If an American passenger with a non-refundable ticket wants to exchange a ticket, he or she will have a full year from the date their original ticket was issued to reschedule without losing the value of their tickets, provided they cancel their reservations prior to their scheduled departure time. Tickets must be reissued and travel must commence within one year of the date the original ticket was issued. Continental Airlines: If a Continental passenger with a non-refundable ticket wants to exchange a ticket, he or she will have a full year from the date their original ticket was issued to reschedule without losing the value of their tickets, provided they cancel their reservations prior to their scheduled departure time. United: If a United passenger with a non-refundable ticket wants to exchange a ticket, he or she will have a full year from the date their original ticket was issued to reschedule without losing the value of their tickets, provided they cancel their reservations prior to their scheduled departure time. Tickets must be reissued and travel must commence within one year of the date of the original ticket was issued. US Airways: If a US-Air passenger holds a Non-refundable ticket and needs to change their reservation it is necessary that the ticket be used/changed prior to the current Ticketed Travel Date or the ticket will have no value. You are permitted to make this change for a change fee up to 12 midnight on the current ticketed day of departure. so...i had brought a ticket somewhere around 10-10-08 week...now i saw a more suitable time for me to fly on JANUARY 9 (its the original date which i had planned to fly)....so does anyone think i can be able to change the flight time? here is my flight schedule (the one that is already reserved...) Is entering your own trip rewards number on someone elses reservation who doesn't have a trip reward illegal? My cousin works at a hotel & I guess when she does guests reservations there is a place where she can input their trip rewards member number, well she said 90% of the people that stay at the hotel arent trip rewards members and don't care to sign up and some of them just say ''put yours in, since i don't have one''. She has a trip rewards member account and of course could always use the points. She thought about that and is wondering if that's okay, or if it's somehow going to get her into trouble? *trip rewards, as in www.triprewards.com its the Wyndham Hotel loyalty program... you can either set up your account to accrue free hotel stays, or free frequent flyer miles on any airline. if they're a memeber of trip rewards then they get points for every dollar they spend on their room. you get 20 United milage plus miles for every 10 dollars you spend on hotel stays.
Did this travel agent rip me off? (V.K. Travels, Fremont, CA)? 1. They said the ticket would be $160 and took my credit card info. 2. Two days later, they called and said airline had charged me twice, for $109.50 and $160, asked for copy of charge from credit card statement, and said they would send me a check for $109.50. 3. The $109.50 charge was by United Airlines, the $160 was by VK Travels. 4. I got an airline ticket-paper receipt that said the total was $109.50. 5. United confirmed the total fare was $109.50. I demanded they refund me $160. 6. Heena at VK yelled at me and threatened to cancel the ticket without my consent. 7. I had the airline leave a note on my reservation that said do not cancel. 8. I disputed the $160 charge with chase. The website : www.vktravels.us Feel free to leave them a piece of your mind :) Daniella, I understand totally. But it needs to be transparent. The way they did it, they made it look like stealing. Hope you agree. Very roundabout and fishy.

Narita Airport Customs? Money Exchange? I am flying into Narita on a Sunday at 3:00. I have a reservation for the airport bus limosine at 5:00. Is 2 hours enough time to get my luggage and go through customs. How long does customs usually take arriving from the United States in Tokyo? Also, does anyone know what terminal United Airlines gets into. I'm trying to pre-plan where to find the Airport Bus Limousine counter before I get there so I'm not overwhelmed. The reservation on the bus is through a tour company so I have to take it. Are there places to exchange dollars into yen in Terminal 1? If so, what is the place called and can you describe how to get there from leaving customs?

its been a hell of a time trying to plan a trip to Hawaii? long but please read if you have had problems with stupid airline companies. hi. im going to the big island in a few weeks. im trying to book my flight. sure, theres LOTS of flights open to fly to Kona. i have a friend im going to stay with there. my dad said he had "reward miles" from alaska airlines. i, being a total noob at air companys, thought that that meant i could book a flight anywhere. so i looked at united. wonderful plane, non stop flight straight to Kona. tons of space available. my dad thought alaska airlines was affiliated with united. its not. well, so much for that. so i looked on the alaskan airline site. under "mileage plan" and "award reservations" it lists airlines their affliated with. so one of them was Northwestern. i go to northwestern airlines site, find a flight. not so good as the first one but hey, i was fine with it. my dad printed the sheet for reference and called alaska airlines. they so "no, you cant book a flight with them" EVEN THOUGH they SPECIFICALLY SAID on the site you could. way to go false advertising. they said we need to go to alaska airlines flight, and click on "reservations", and then "award reservations". then search under that. lo and behold they are the WORST FLIGHTS POSSIBLE at the WORST times. and northwestern flights were not even on the list of options. on top of that, they pick only certain flights you can go on. the one they gave me, was, from SFO to LAX. then when i get to LA, i have to wait 9 HOURS before i get on the next plan to fly to kona. ridiculous! alaska airlines sucks. they advertise things that are not true. has anyone else had any problems with this mileage reward crap? has anyone else had to wait 9 hours or more, and thats without delay? btw. im only 20, this is my first plane flight, and im going by myself.
about my flight please help i dont get it ? i've asked again about my flight with United airline but i still dont get it. let me explain all again. first of all... i went to United Airline website and decided to purchased domestic flight ticket there from ORD - MCI and MCI - DCA. and then i've found what flight i wanted and i brought them by my Visa Dabit card. and i got reservation confirmed through my e-mail but they dont cut off my money from my account. but i already got confirmation number on my e-mail. and when i log in on United Airline website. it's all show my itineraries. but i dont get E-Ticket and they dont cut off my money. what am i suppose to do right now? or do i need to waiting till their working time? im worried right now because i need to fly soon. they supposed to cut off my money right away after i've purchased them tickets right ? thank you so much!!!

Has anyone ever snuck their cat/small dog on a plane without paying the airline fees? I've traveled numerous times on planes with my cat in an approved carrier in the cabin with me. He does well flying and I get to spend the holidays with him. Each time, I paid for a medical exam for him by my vet so that I'd have the medical certificate if they asked (they never did) and I paid the airline fees. Two years ago, the first time I flew, it cost $50 each way for his "reservation" and $30 for the exam, for a total of $130. The next time, it cost $75 each way and $30 for the exam, for a total of $180. Since I wanted to take him home for Christmas this year, I checked the airline pet fees and nearly fell out of my chair! Delta/NWA is now charging $150 each way for a pet and United is charging $175. The cheapest, USAir, is still charging $100 each way, but I don't fly them because they're almost never the cheapest airline for me. I recently bought a ticket on Delta for my flight home for Christmas and payed $250 for a roundtrip, but my cat's "reservation" would cost $300, more than my ticket! If I was flying United, it would cost $350! Now, I'm all for playing the rules, but this is crazy. And what's even more insulting, I pay all that money and my cat still counts as one of my pieces of carryon luggage! $300 and I don't even get to bring an extra bag! So I'm either going to board him (which now costs less than flying him even for a two- or three-week trip) or sneak him on the plane, but has anyone ever done that successfully? I wouldn't have to sneak him through security because the TSA people don't know and don't care what flight I'm on. How would they know if I have a reservation for him? And if I have a friend waiting to take him to a kennel in case my plan fails, what's the harm in trying? Has anyone out there ever done this? Ok, seriously, read the question. Don't send a stupid, knee-jerk reaction answer. If you don't own a pet and have never taken one on a plane, don't answer this question. I don't plan to send my cat through the x-ray machine! I'd walk through with him like I always do. My "guess" is that the only people who know if your cat is booked on a flight is the airline on which you're flying. Do the TSA guys know whether you've made a reservation for your cat? If not, why would they care if I have a cat with me or not?
What does this mean "..which will be under guarantee from the airline.."? I have a Pakistani nationanlity and are currently living in norway. What I want to do is to make a stopover in Dubai / Abu Dhabi for less than 96 hours. Soo i that case I am going for a transit visa which I can apply on arrival in Abu Dhabi / Dubai, soo I am wondering about the statement "gurantee from the airline" is this soms special document or is it enough with a confirmed ticket to a third country within 96 hours...? I found the text below from (I am not planning to travel with emirates) http://www.emirates.com/no/English/plan_book/essential_information/visa_passport_information/find_visa_requirements/find_visa_requirements.aspx / 27AUG08 / 0914 UTC National PAKISTAN (PK) /Residence NORWAY (NO) Transit UNITED ARAB EMIRATES (AE) Destination PAKISTAN (PK) ALSO CHECK DESTINATION INFORMATION BELOW UNITED ARAB EMIRATES (AE) Visa not required if: - continuing within 24 hours by same or first connecting aircraft to a third country; and - holding confirmed onward ticket; and - holding documents for next destination; - and not leaving the airport transit area. Those with transit times longer than 8 hours, up to a max. of 96 hours, are permitted to leave the transit area by applying for a 96 hour transit visa on arrival, which will be under guarantee from the airline. Passport must be left with Immigration until departure. Passenger must hold pre-booked hotel reservation. Visa can be issued by City Stop counter (Arabian Adventures). Fee: USD 122.-. Non-compliance with transit regulations may result in a fine of AED 500.- for the carrier.
Can an airline bump you off a flight due to a schedule change? I had a booking on United flight 8507 from Newark to Calgary on 7/17 at 5.35pm. This flight is operated by Air Canada but the booking was made on United.com. The timing of that flight was changed last week to 8am. That is the only non-stop flight operated by United/Air Canada between Newark & Calgary and the flight number remains 8507. I am willing to travel at the different time but United has bumped me off that flight and put me on a connecting flight which is going to take 3 hours longer. They say that Air Canada is unwilling to put me on the non-stop flight because there are no seats currently available at the fare code that I bought the ticket 2 months ago and that I would have to pay an additional $293 to get back on the non-stop flight. United is willing to offer me a full refund but this seems completely unfair and wrong. Interestingly, my son who has an award travel reservation via Air Canada on that same non-stop flight was not bumped off by Air Canada when the schedule changed! Do I have any recourse?
