Can a seventeen year-old fly on Delta Air Lines? I am leaving for college this fall and I won't be seventeen until October. I am planning to fly alone and was wondering if Delta Air Lines has any rules regarding that. I can buy my tickets online but I'm just wondering what their policy is on this.

Why is there no "Beech" in Delta Air Lines' company directory? I am an employee of Delta Air Lines and I created this ID to settle the argument. I did a search in the company directory for the name Beech and came up with absolutely no one with that name. There are a few names that begin with "Beech..." but no "Beech." There is no one employed by DAL with the name Beech.
Job as Delta Air Lines call center reservations rep? I applied online for this job and the start pay is pretty low, but I want to switch careers and this looks like a good opportunity. The position also indicates I would start on PM shifts and weekend shifts. Is this job difficult to obtain and what advice (besides doing the online application and resume) would you give to enhance my chances of being noticed? Thanks.
Delta Air Lines Baggage Problems? How many people out in America and the world have experienced lost or delayed baggage with Delta Air Lines? It appears from my friends and my own personal experience that Delta Air Lines has given up on the customer comes first and that money comes first and the customers can be damned! Please comment in depth with specific dates and flight numbers whenever possible. I plan to invite Delta Air Lines executives to address this question as well.
Delta Air Lines - has any one flown with these? Has anyone flown to New York on this airline, im a nerbous flyer and have on been with British Airways before, the seats were very rooms and had good leg space and your own TV. Are these planes similar?
Delta Air Lines & Northwest Airlines Question? Do Northwest Airline's (which I know merged with Delta on January 1st) flights keep their flight number when moved under Delta, for example, Detroit-Boston Northwest flight 7340's codeshare flight number with Delta Air Lines is 7171, so at ATC would the flight be called "Delta 7340" or "Delta 7171," because I know that Northwest Airlines technically no longer exists, all of the NorthwestXXX call signs are now DeltaXXX, but I don't know if the flight numbers are being switched over as well.
Delta Air Lines - United merger? According to CNN and other sources, Delta Air Lines and United are in talks regarding a possible merger. Here's the link to the CNN page: http://money.cnn.com/2007/11/14/news/companies/delta_united/index.htm?cnn=yes I have some questions about this: -It is proposed that the combined airline would fly under the name United. Which name would you rather it be? -The two airlines have similar wide-body fleets. However, their narrow-body aircraft are essentially competitors, with United mainly using A320-family aircraft (and some classic B737s) and Delta using B737NG, B757, MD-88, and even some MD-90 aircraft. With nothing in common, which manufacturer would get the future contracts? -Delta is a SkyTeam member, while United is a Star Alliance member. Which alliance would the combined airline be a member of? -Which frequent flyer program would be used by the combined airline, Delta's SkyMiles or United's Mileage Plus? Or would an entirely new one be created? Thank you for your comments. One more question: do you want the merger to go through? And a correction: United also has B757 aircraft. Here's what I think: 1) I would much rather it fly under Delta's name. 2) I hope it's Boeing, but I'm not sure. I know Delta has ordered more B737NG aircraft, but United seems pretty happy with Airbus. But the MD-88s and the B757s better not go. 3) I know Star Alliance is bigger, but I'm sticking with SkyTeam. I have SkyMiles and US Airways Dividend Miles (Star All.). If it goes through, I'd either move my US Air miles to the combined airline, or move my SkyMiles to Continental OnePass. SkyTeam has more American airlines and better schedules for me than Star. 4) I think it'll probably be like the US-HP merger. If it's named United, it'll be Mileage Plus. 5) (new one) No!!! I really hope this doesn't happen. If it did, there would be less competition and prices would probably rise. Delta is also my favorite airline, so I don't want to see them go anywhere anytime soon. I agree with you TedEx (nice ;-). I don't think the deal will go through because of monopolistic concerns. Could there be any benefits if the deal did go through and the two airlines combined into "Delted" (lol)?
Delta Air Lines 757 with Winglets? I recently flew in a Delta 757-200 with winglets (N650DL) that was still painted in the old livery. Can anyone tell me how many aircraft like this fly? Also how much longer will it be until they are painted?
Do the Delta Air Lines have TV? like your own personal tv video thing behind each seat? im going on a 6 hour plane ride so im hoping there is one thanks :-]

Should I get Delta Air lines (DAL)? The trend right now looks good, but its EPS is negative. What does that suggest? Does that matter? Will I gain a profit in a short-term? I only have one month trade period!
Help me quick...Delta Air Lines stock!? Throughout the bankruptcy/ reorganization, I have held appx 180 shares. They have fluctuated, now the ticker (DALRQ) shows .018 each share for a total of $3.24! does this stock just dissappear, or will it begin to go back up when the sale begins again today? What can I do at this point? Yes- I am in for the long haul- Just needing to know that all my shares won't just dissappear! OH YEH- I have had the shares for about 4 years now, and they were not in bankruptcy at the time of the purchase. OK- Thank you all for the answers! Please try to remember that you are here to help- not to be judgemental. People should not have to explain their experience or portfolio to Yahoo Answers to get a straight answer. I do have a varied portfolio, including 529 plans, mutual funds, and other index funds, and this was just extra money we had at the time. No real loss, and at the opening rate, we may well invest again.

Delta Airlines broke FHA rule? What recourse legally do I have if Delta Airlines broke an FHA rule? Please read below. If you think that I should receive a full refund then please send Alex P. Roger at Delta.OnlineSupport@delta.com a message. Please copy paste this letter into your message. Thank you very much if you do send a email to Delta. I am hoping enough people will help me and in return help yourself if you ever have an issue with the airlines in regards to an obese person taking up your seat. I have nothing against obese people. I was kind to this gentleman, but I did not have a seat. And if the policy is that Delta makes obese people purchase an extra seat then they should make them purchase it. They did not catch this so now they should refund my flight cost. I understand there are obese people in this world. But Delta should have provided me and my girlfriend with a seat, arm rest down and a seat belt. None of these things were given to me after I paid for a ticket from Las Vegas to Philadelphia. HERE IS THE LETTER I WROTE TO DELTA – THREE TIMES _ I RECEIVED A RESPONSE THREE WEEKS AFTER MY LETTER- Dear Delta, On June 12th - flight 1236 - from Vegas to Philadelphia, I had a very horrific experience. I did not have a seat for over 4 hours. I did not have a seat belt on either. An obese gentleman sat next to me. He kept pushing his arm into me even though he already had half my seat. He pushed up the arm rest - against FEDERAL AVIATION REGULATIONS- and sat in over 70% of my seat. I had to move my girlfriends arm rest up, take off my seat belt and we both shared one seat. Neither one of us had a seat belt on the whole flight. It was uncomfortable and hurt both of our backs. We had back and knee pain for about a week due to this flight. The Federal Aviation Administration does require passengers be able to sit belted and with both arm rests down to comply with safety standards. Delta airline did not comply with safety standards. I told two different stewardess that we could not wear our seat belts and that the arm rest were up. They were pleasant and told me that they could not do anything about it. One of them gave me a twix for my troubles. I would like a full refund for both our seats-and voucher for both of us for a future flight. There were no other seats open so we were jammed together in one seat. And the back pain was very uncomfortable a week later. I am 6ft tall and had to put my legs on an angle to fit properly. Do you have a policy for obese people? The stewardess were very nice but told me that they could not do anything. They told me to write to Delta and that you would compensate me. LETTER I RECEIVED BACK FROM DELTA - Dear Mr. ####, Thank you for contacting us. On behalf of everyone at Delta Air Lines, I sincerely apologize for the challenges you and your companion encountered with your seat assignment on your recent travel. I can only imagine how discouraging it must have been when after requesting a better seat you had to experience such a disappointing situation. I am truly sorry your seat assignment adjacent to a large passenger affected your comfort. We do care about the well being and safety of all our passengers and strive to provide them an enjoyable and comfortable cabin environment. Please allow me to explain that we rely on our team members at the gate to identify passengers who may require additional space. Our policy states that any passenger who requires more than one seat for personal comfort must purchase an extra adjacent seat. Part of our problem is that most passengers now obtain their seating either online or at a self-service kiosk, and our agents do not have an opportunity to meet our passengers until they board the aircraft. (THIS IS A LIE>>> NO ONE ENTERS A PLANE WITHOUT HAVING TO HAVE YOUR BOARDING PASS SCANNED !) However, in the event we notice a large passenger boarding we should attempt to reseat that passenger or request that they purchase an extra adjacent seat. Again, I apologize this passenger was not identified and respectfully decline your request for refunding ticket and compensation. Sincerely, Alex P. Roger Delta.OnlineSupport@delta.com Coordinator Customer Care AGAIN I WROTE ALEX ASKING FOR A FULL REFUND – Dear Mr. ###, Thank you for writing and allowing me the opportunity to further review your concerns. On behalf of everyone at Delta Air Lines, I am sorry you were dissatisfied with my first response. I understand you feel I did not adequately address your concerns. I was happy to review your comments again to see if there was something I missed. Respectfully, there is nothing more I can add. I am sorry to disappoint you, as I understand this is not the answer you were expecting. Mr. ####, again, I apologize. Your support is important to us, and I thank you for your additional time and effort. We look forw

delta airlines complain? Delta Air Lines, This letter is to complain about the quality of service (or lack thereof) my family recently received from your airline and in particular, from one of your customer service representatives by the names of Marina Velkojvic . On August 3rd my wife and infant daughter “ Meriam Sourial” arrived at John F. Kennedy airport scheduled to fly to Cairo direct on flight 84 to Cairo . Upon arrival at the airport, and after spending more than one hour in line to check in, plus another 30 minutes to be cleared by security and just prior to boarding, we learned that their flight was overbooked. Although my friend’s wife who did check in the same time my wife did , she got the chance to have a seat in the plane. Inexplicably, my wife and infant daughter were singled out by Marina Velkojvic and told by her that she could not board and that they could be booked on another flight to Cairo that day. Ms. Velkojvic suggested that my wife fly overnight via Air France which would have a layover in France for about 4 hours. My wife respectfully explained that this wasn’t a feasible option because she was traveling with an infant and that a direct flight (such as flight 84) would be best for her. At this point I was about to exit the parking garage when my wife called me and I immediately returned to the gate to see what else could be done. I personally spoke with Ms. Velkojvic and explained that waiting for 4 hours to catch a connecting flight in Paris with an infant child was just not an option we could accept. It was at this point that Ms. Velkojvic became unprofessional, rude and threatening. She raised her voice and clearly said in a condescending tone heard by everyone within 10 feet of us – “I can’t do anything more for you and I don’t have the time for you, decide now what you want or I’ll call the cops”. This statement was completely and utterly shocking. I must be honest when I say that I had no other feeling aside from complete astonishment overcoming my entire being at this point. I could not (and still do not) understand how a trained reservation agent could expect a woman with an infant child to accept a layover of 4 hours in a foreign country. Does this seem rational? Where exactly is the common sense in this request? Couldn’t she have asked a man traveling alone to perhaps accept the layover connection? Realizing that I was dealing with a completely inept and emotionless person, I asked Ms. Velkojvic where I could retrieve my luggage. She responded heartlessly with “look for it downstairs”. As I began to walk away I asked Ms. Velkojvic how I could secure a refund and she handed me a piece of paper with your 1-800-221-1212 number on it. I also asked for my ticket to be returned and she refused to give that to me. At that point, I asked for her name and ID and informed her that I would be filing a formal complaint with the airline and she said that they’re not allowed to give their name to anyone. I began to walk away when, several (not one or two, but close to six people) came up to me and provided me with her name. Needless to say, your customers are more caring then your staff. I called the number provided by Ms. Velkojvic as I waited to retrieve my luggage when the customer service representative on the phone explained that the customer services counter could provide me with a voucher for the refund. At 2:00 am and nearly 6 hours after my wife should have left, I spoke to Sheyla Cacao about my refund. After explaining my problem to her several times Ms. Cacao gave me a voucher for $954.10 instead of $1,020.00. I asked Ms. Cacao to explain this (since my wife’s ticket was $815 and my daughter’s was $205) . Furthermore, I was told that my luggage was not there and that they’d need to give me a luggage claim ticket (JFKD52630) so that it could be delivered to me within 24 hours and until now I didn’t get my all baggage. I left terminal 3 at nearly 4:00 am in the morning having to pay parking fees of $70. Needless to say, I was quite frustrated and remain quite angry about the entire experience. I expected a much higher level of service from your airline, and I am truly quite disappointed. Airlines are, by virtue of the business they’re in, an extension of the hospitality industry. Planes (irrespective of the carrier) are a dime a dozen and it’s the customer service that differentiates the carriers. Because I don’t wish this experience to happen to any of my loved ones, I will be informing my friends and family about this incident. The experience was difficult and frustrating,
Delta Airlines Boeing 757-200? New York JFK Airport? I am booking flights with Delta to Orlando from Edinburgh. On the way back I get to spend the day at New York JFK. Are there any facilities for me to leave my baggage while I 'tour the city'??? And also, Are Delta Air Lines installing there new touch screen TV's in the seats of ALL of their Boeing 757 fleet? From pictures I've seen, it only seems to be the ones with over-wing exits. My flight has 6 standard exits for my flight to New York. Any sensible answers are much appreciated, THANKS
What you think of this article and Summary it? Aug. 21--The Air Line Pilots Association on Monday asked the National Mediation Board for an election to decide if SkyWest Airlines pilots want to be represented by the nation's largest airline pilot union. ALPA decided to seek an election after receiving enough interest from SkyWest pilots in joining the union, ALPA said in a letter mailed to about 2,700 aviators. It isn't clear how many pilots have signed cards authorizing the union to request a collective bargaining vote. On Monday, ALPA spokesman Pete Janhunen refused to reveal the number because the union doesn't want to tip its hand to the company. Over the past year, ALPA has said it had obtained authorization cards from more than half of St. George-based SkyWest's pilots. But it declined to approach the mediation board until at least 70 percent had indicated their support for a vote. "We think we are going to win the election. ALPA doesn't play to lose. Our senior leadership and the [SkyWest pilots] organizing committee agree that the time is right to file the cards" with the mediation board, Janhunen said. SkyWest spokeswoman Marissa Snow said the airline would not comment because it had not been informed by the union. In the past, the airline has said it is opposed to a pilots union. "We haven't been notified of anything of this nature, so I can't really speak to the topic," Snow said. SkyWest pilots are the largest nonunion group of commercial aviators in the country, according to ALPA. The rapidly growing regional airline flies passengers for Delta Air Lines, United Airlines and Midwest Airlines. It has hired about 2,000 workers this year, including hundreds of pilots, and has plans to hire more to keep up with growth. In the letter to pilots, ALPA said the mediation board will hold the election after it compares the authorization cards with company employment records to verify the showing of pilot interest in an election. The board also will put together a list of eligible voters. That should take 60 days. The board will then mail confidential telephone voting instructions to the pilots, who likely will have 30 days to cast their ballots. Janhunen said pilots will vote on two questions -- whether they want a union to represent them and whether that union should be ALPA. Simple majority votes are required, he said. ALPA hasn't detected widespread dissatisfaction with SkyWest, Janhunen said. Instead, SkyWest's rapid growth has made pilots feel uncertain about their jobs, he said. "Usually, in this kind of case, [pilots] realize they don't have an enforceable [labor] contract, they don't have an agreement that guarantees any aspect of their careers," he said. "There comes a point for pilots when scraps from the master's table are no longer a sufficient diet." The union's reluctance to pursue a vote until now may be based on past failures by pilots to affiliate with a union. An effort in 2004 failed when only a third of eligible pilots voted for an in-house association to act as their bargaining agent. An organizing drive by ALPA in 1999 also failed. In May, a federal judge barred SkyWest from interfering with organizing activities by the SkyWest Pilots ALPA Organizing Committee. The association won a restraining order blocking the airline from preventing pilots from posting and handing out literature and wearing ALPA insignia on pins while on duty.

Why is it that some planes have windows missing? Aircraft such as the 757 (seen at this link:http://www.airliners.net/photo/Delta-Air-Lines/Boeing-757-232/1337580/L/) Have windows missing. I know there might be toilets or closets there, but not always. I'm booking a flight with Delta to New York from Edinburgh on the B757-200. I like sitting just in front of the wing. But it just happens that them seats don't have windows. Any sensible answers are much appreciated.
