Delta has cancelled many flights today and I think it was American that cancelled the other day to check wiring? Do you believe this is the reason or its something else we are not being told?

My airline seat assignments have "disappeared" from my itinerary. Can I still check in online? I bought roundtrip Delta Airlines tickets for my family on December 5, and I'm 99% certain I selected seats for all four segments. I just logged in to check the status of the flights and discovered that the assignments for the first and second segments are not showing up. There is only 1 seat available on one plane, the other has no seats available. I know about overbooking, so don't explain that to me please, but I want to check in as early as possible to better my chances of getting on the airplanes. I want to know where does immigration take place (NYC or ATL) for the new delta direct flt from Bombay to Atl? Has anyone traveled on the new delta direct flight from Bombay to Atlanta? It stops over in NYC and then after an hour and a half that same plane proceeds to ATL. It is my understanding that you have to have your customs and immigration at NYC. Considering you only have an hour and a half how can Customs and Immigration be done in an hour and a half. Furthermore its the same aircraft that leaves for Atlanta and arrives at Concourse E (international terminal). So my question is does anyone know what happens in NYC, are you deplaned and reboarded in an hour and a half or do you actually have to go through customs and immigration at the NYC airport (this sounds very far fetched). Immigration checks vs. connecting flights? I'm leaving to Los Angeles next saturday (no direct flight). I'll have to stop in NYC (JFK) and take a domestic flight (both international and domestic flights are operated by DELTA). The time gap between the two flights is 85 minutes. I flew on Delta a year ago, and was allowed to check a handgun inside a hard plastic case with a small lock on it (even though someone could have easily broken into the case by stomping on it or something). I'm wondering if Jetblue will allow me to do the same, or if I must check the gun inside a locked metal case. Any help would be nice! Also, I'm going to California, and I have a Glock 19 with hi-cap mags. Should I leave the mags home?

Can I board a Delta flight from a layover point? I was looking for a Delta flight from airport A to airport B which is a non-stop route for them. However for my dates, the tickets are too costly. Searching around with airports nearby to airport A, I found that if I take a Delta flight from airport C, then I get tickets way cheaper. This flight from airport C to airport B is not a non-stop route, however the irony is that the layover is in airport A! And I want to travel from airport A in the first place. So my question is if I purchase this ticket from airport C to airport B via airport A, then would it be possible for me to skip the flight from airport C to airport A, and then take only the flight from airport A to airport B. Do you think it will be a problem boarding this way? Both when there is baggage to check and when only cabin bag? Your expert opinion is requested.

How can I improve my chances of being able to use frequent flier air miles for our trip to Europe next year? We were told you can only book 331 days ahead at most, and we wanted to use our frequent flier air miles for a European vacation next year. Delta told us we should make the entire round-trip booking 331 days in advance of our return date. We would like to fly Delta, and depart end-May '08 for France (or close to that), returning on July 23, 2008 to Cincinnati from either Stockholm or Copenhagen. 331 days from July 23, 2008 is next Monday August 27. I checked with Delta yesterday and they said they have no spots available for frequent fliers (50,000 miles awards) from Cincinnati to France from mid-May through Mid-June of next year. What can I do to increase our chances of being able to use our air miles for these round-trip flights - anything? Fly to another destination within Europe? Check with Delta's partners? (how does THAT work?) Go on a waiting list? Thanks for your thoughts!

On the login site I see numbers under Av/Au: Also on the standby list it says "# of seats available" They are always different numbers of seats Which one should I use/ is more accurate ? Thanks

Will I have enough time to make a connecting international flight at ATL airport? I have a 49 min layover, traveling from Orange County, CA to Altanta, GA - then to Barcelona, Spain. Assuming that the first flight is on time, will that be enough time to make the connection? Also, will I need to pick up my luggage and check in again at ATL? I am flying Delta on both flights.

Will the price of the flight change back? WTH. yesterday i checked on websites like delta or expedia for flights from Wichita,KS to Atlanta,GA on June 2nd - June 30th for Roundtrip. And the prices were around $169.00, now when i look today its like around $250! what is up with that, do you think itll go back down? because im gonna be pissed if it made that much of a change in one single day.

visit to Atlanta, Georgia, USA using two flights? We were able to fly direct from Edinburgh to Atlanta but Delta is now discontinuing this. If I say take one of the cheaper airlines to say Manchester then use a schedule flight say via Delta does the cheaper airline ensure that I would be on time etc to meet my next flight. I seem to recall somewhere that I was told always take the same airline if using two flights as they have to get you to your destination. Do I need to go through customs when connecting in Munich? I am traveling from Atlanta to Ankara, Turkey. My connection is in Munich and I only have 1 hour. I know I will be arriving in Terminal 1, Hall B (Delta) and departing from Terminal 2 (Turkish Air). WIll I need to go through passport control or customs? I believe my bags should be checked through to Ankara since all flights were booked through Delta.

How thoroughly do they search your checked baggage? I am flying out of JFK (NYC) on a Delta international flight. I know they sometimes open up checked baggage and look in them. I am wondering to what extent do they do this, because I am packing some of my stuff in those vacuum seal bags that suck out all the air so I have more room. I am concerned that they will open these bags to search in them, letting in all the air, and thus not being able to get my stuff to fit in the suitcase again. Any ideas? Thank you.

Can I upgrade an NWA flight operated by KLM using Delta Skymiles ? I've checked the NWA and KLM websites and have not been able to find anything. I tried calling NWA but I cannot get through on their 800-number. I have a B-class ticket which in theory is upgradable but I can only find ways to upgrade using World Perks...
