Delta Interrupted Flight Voucher. Can I use it with other Skyteam Members? I have a $400 voucher from Delta that I want to use this summer. I have been searching for low fares, but most of them have not been too good or even below $400. Some Skyteam members such as Northwest & Continental have decent rates. Can I use a Delta voucher on their websites since they are all part of Skyteam?
Will airline fares get cheaper as it gets closer to the Spring/Summer? I have a vaction planned in Panama City, Florida in the 2nd week of June. I already have the hotel booked, but I dont want to drive 14 hrs from Columbus, Ohio to Florida. Right now, Delta and NWA cheapest round trip flights are approx $350. Will fares get cheaper as it gets closer to my vacation date?
Christmas Fare Specials on Delta Airlines? To my fellow Jamaicans, Delta Airlines have a special from JFK connecting into Atlanta to KIN. I paid only $283.00 included all taxes and fees for travel on Dec 21 and returning Jan 4th. The only problem is that the layover in Atlanta is lenghty. This is no joke. Check it out. This is too good to be true.
Delta fare increase query? I bought a ticket from delta Dublin-Mexico via Atlanta on Dec 18 for 595 euros and the price has now decreased to 450 euros? Its a non refundable ticket. Delta guarantee the lowest price but here they are undercutting themselves. Do I have any rights or comeback?
What led to the Demise of Song , Delta airlines lower fare carrier? I never really understood what happend to them. Song was easily one of my favorite airlines with the person tv's at every seat, along with vast array of music selections and trivia you played against everyone else on your flight. (Not to mention cheap fares) I do realize that these planes have been converted into Delta's fleet, but I rarely seem to end up on one of them. Did anyone else ever Fly Song before they went under, and enjoyed them as much as I did? Also, of the 8 or 10 times I flew them, there was never a single seat unoccupied. Thats why I was shocked that they terminated. ** I was even on a red eye flight from LAX to Fort Lauderdale, and that flight was completely full**
Last minute upgrade to business class on Delta? I always fly coach and drool at the size of the seats in business class but can never bring myself to pay the big fare. I have a couple long international flights coming up on Delta. Has anyone ever upgraded at the counter just before the flight? If so, was it expensive?
What does coach (v) mean when booking a flight? So I'm on vacation to California for a month to see my boyfriend. I'm planning on leaving June 24th and return July 23. When I go to delta.com some of the fares are higher than others and the coach classes have letters in them what does this mean? for example a flight at 6am to LAX is Coach (v) or Coach (u) What do these codes stand for?
what are last-minute tickets & one-way walk-up fares? Most of the nation's largest airlines said yesterday that they would raise prices for many last-minute tickets. Yesterday, American Airlines, United Airlines, Northwest Airlines, Continental Airlines and US Airways followed the move by Delta Air Lines to increase one-way walk-up fares by $50. On the above passage, what are last-minute tickets & one-way walk-up fares?

what is the best domestic airline experience? im going to be flying from orlando airport to laguardia ny in a week or two. there are a few airlines that have low fares. the four i saw are delta, jetblue, american airlines, and continental. of those, which would u say has the best overall flight experience (entertainment, no or short delays, etc.)?
Which is better to fly? United or Delta Airlines? Hey all. So my trip I am planning has given me these two as the cheapest options. The fare is withing $1 of each other, so price is not an issue. Flight times are also comparable. Have flown neither of these airlines before, I am not sure who to choose. Anyone got ideas?
Should i book for my flight now or wait towards the depature date to do so? i'm planning to travel from Dallas,TX, to Atlanta,GA, on march 24th. throuhg Delta Airlines. i wanted to book for my flight a few days ago, but somthing told me to wait. now the fares are down by $28(cool!!!). i wanted to know is it advicable i wait and book later so that the fares my go down or is it too risky!!! can the fares increase instead?
What's the best way to fly from NYC to Melbourne,FL? What's the best way to fly from NYC to Melbourne,FL? I see that Delta offers a decent fare but you have to connect in Altanta and fly in an old DC (MD88)? I'm wondering if there is better way to do this? Would it be worth it to fly to Orlando and drive an hour? Just out of curiosity is there anything wrong with MD-88's. What is their safety record?
Delta and Northwest are in merger. What do you think is a good name for the new combined airline? http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080415/ap_on_bi_ge/delta_northwest;_ylt=Ag1xQCQj5s52zyHK_E0BKlqs0NUE Biggest airline in the world, I hear. Biggest fares, too, probably. Competition, there you go out the window! Or will airlines start getting merger fever? Anyway, I vote for 'Northelta' or 'Deltest', but what do I know from airlines? Such a scary concept might as well be called 'North By Northwest'. Wait! wait 'Detest! yeah, that's the (e)ticket!
Is the Delta Companion Ticket usable on multi-city bookings? The wife and I have a Platinum American Express Delta card that offers us a companion ticket every year. We've used them before for basic round trip fares, however this time around we are looking to do a multi-city trip. For example, flying from our home in Alaska to Las Vegas, then to Atlanta, and then back to Alaska. Would we be able to purchase one full price fare and have the other fall under the companion ticket? These things have lots of "fine print". This isn't a Delta program, its operated by a third party company that doesn't think to tell you specifics until 45 minutes into a phone conversation.
airline Bereavement Fares? does anyone has a suggestion on Bereavement Fares or can offer standby tickets? I checked with several airlines but most of them offer only a 10% discount for emergency situations, the costs FRA - LAX now is season $1,600 and up. What most upset me Delta Airlines try take total advance of the situation and tried to offer me a "discounted fair" of $4,000 Don't the think customer can research and find out that's a rip of price. thank you in advance Adrian (KinskiJr@yahoo.com)
Have you ever had a bad flight to/from Korea? I've only made the trip once, in economy on Delta/Korean Air, and it was a good trip. A lot of leg room, movies in every seat back, great service, etc. . . My very tall friend is coming for a visit, and Delta is not the cheapest fare. Has anyone flown with United or US Airways and had a good or bad experience? He doesn't want to save a little money and be crammed like a sardine for the entire journey. Any advice will be appreciated.
What do you think the next airline merger will be? Since Delta and Northwest are merging, it looks like other airlines are thinking about mergers too. Please tell me what you think the most likely merger will be and what you think the best idea for a merger would be. Here's what I think: Most likely: US Airways and Continental as US Airways Best: United, Continental, Air Canada, Airtran, Hawaiian, and Frontier as United, with Southwest as Ted, United's low fare service. What do you think?
For your toddler, which would you use and why? I am doing a short trip from Utah to California and will be flying. I've always gone with Southwest because their fares are cheap and the plane rides aren't bad. I saw this morning that Delta has the same flight for the same price. I haven't been on a Delta flight in a lonnng time. I know that Southwest is kid friendly and if there is room, I can give my daughter a seat. I'll be taking her on my lap since she's under 2, if there is not an extra seat. Is Delta kid friendly? Would you go with Delta or Southwest and why?
What online site has the cheapest flights? I have checked the big ones--expedia, travelocity, delta, etc., and they either have all the same prices, or no prices to where I want to fly (Beirut). Last year I paid big money to get an easy one-layover trip...any travelers out there know of other wholesale fare sites?
What transportation options exist between Starkville and the MS Gulf Coast? I have a freshman son at Mississippi State who would like to come home to Long Beach, MS some weekends but does not own a car. There is no bus service near the college that I've found to bring him. Delta in Columbus wants $400+ and we would still need to pay cab fare to and from the campus. Is there any ride share program and where can he find out about it? We're willing to pay to help with gas and other costs.
Why did Delta charge me $100 per ticket? I arrived 44 minutes before my booked flight at the Las Vegas Delta ticket counter. They refused to check my bag, and the attendant said "You late - go stand in long line. Must be 45 minutes early" Nowhere was this noted on my Travelocity e-ticket. There were no signs posted stating this. They charged me full fare for the next flight and added $100 service charge per ticket on top of this. When I asked I was told it was posted on the Delta website. Very poor customer service. No one cared. There was more than enough time to go through security and get to the gate. Where did this $100 charge come from??? This is new to me. On top of this they charged me $15 to check my bag, which was originally to offset high fuel prices(which are way down now).
If I have 5,000 delta sky miles, do I get a free ticket? how does it work I dont understand? okay so I dont really get how it works I read the rules and I still dont get it For base fares equal to or greater than $100 and less than $250: Redeem 10,000 miles for $100 off the total fare or Increase the redemption to 25,000 miles and increase in increments of 5,000 miles ($50 off) to cover the total fare. For base fares equal to or greater than $250 and total fares less than $1,000: Redeem 10,000 miles for $100 off the total fare or Increase the redemption in increments of 5,000 miles ($50 off) to cover all or part of the total fare (15,000 miles for $150 off, 20,000 miles for $200 off, etc.). soo does this mean that I need 15,000 miles to get at least 100 dollars off a ticket purchase??? so 5,000 miles is really nothing?
I orignally purchased a Delta ticket to Punta Cana in 2008, I had to reschedule due to pregnancy problems I? called Liberty Travel ( my agent) and they reschedule my airfare for 11/14/09-11/21/09 and charges me $150 fee per ticket. Unfortunaelty I was not able to travel AGAIN, I called Delta to try to reschedule and they told me that they can not resechedule my ticket again. Does anyone know if there is a way around this? What can I do to have them approve my to reschedule this air fare once again? Pleas help I do not want to loose $1100.
NWA & Delta merge domino effect? I watched a video saying if they merge, then lower-fare careers like Southwest will not be able to compete and will be forced to merge with other airlines etc etc. Eventually, there will be like 3 super mega careers and everything will fall apart, with airlines constantly competing, routes changing, ppl losing their jobs etc. WTF will this force other airlines to merge? And could this affect me in the future?
What is there to do in New York, New York in July 2010? I might be going to New York for a summer vacation, and I want a list of stuff to do. And should I fly with Southwest, American, or Delta? Southwest has the lowest fares though. BTW we would be flying out of Omaha, NE. Thanks
Why does the price of airfare seem to change every few seconds? I'm trying to book plane tickets for my fiance and I to go from London to San Antonio, Texas (where I'm from) for a couple weeks around Easter. I've been online for several hours this morning scouring airline websites (BA, Delta, Northwest, Continental, AA, etc.) and 'cheap ticket' providers (Kayak, Travelocity, etc.). Especially on Delta the fares seem to change every few seconds! I'll find a good one, then when I select it the website tells me that they've sold out of those. Then the price goes up and down and up and down again. WHY? And does anyone have any good tips on getting a great fare?
Is it time to rethink "security" rules at airports? A woman arrived late for her flight and was not allowed to board the plane. She became irate and was handcuffed and put into a holding cell, where she was left until she quieted. They went in and found her dead; somehow the handcuffs had become wrapped around her neck. At some point, her flight was rebooked. Five years ago, my granddaughter booked a flight for herself and me to Oklahoma City. Since she wasn't sure if I would be the one going with her or her mother, she booked the flight in her mother's name. On the day of the flight was the first I heard that the flight (which was paid for by me) was not in my name. I had to take a later flight and pay yet another fare. Delta would not do anything about reimbursement, even though I had paid for three flights and one went empty, through no fault of mine. I can understand this woman getting irate, even though it was a different airport and a different airline. Andy S -- the report I read simply said she arrived late.
Alaskan Airlines "Board Room" question? I recently purchased a first class ticket on Delta.com (Fare class A, and Very reasonable in comparison to the price of a coach seat) Any ways the first leg of my journey is actually flown on Alaskan Airlines, and that's where i check in etc. Would I be allowed access to Alaskan Airlines "Board Room" since i have a first class ticket even though it was purchased through Delta? I guess more importantly, would the receptionist have any clue how I got the ticket if im holding on to a Alaskan Airlines first class boarding pass?
Why are US based airlines so useless when it comes to inflight services? The US based airlines like United, Delta, Alaska, NW, American etc have such bad inflight services with absolutely rude flight attendents, bad inflight services, bad or almost no food. This is not limited to just domestic travel but also when travelling internationally. These airlines fare so poorly when compared with other airlines like Cathay, Thai, Singapore, Malaysia, British Airways, KLM, Emirates etc.
How do you reserve a plane ticket and pay at a later time? I am planning a trip to Georgia in the month of March of this year. I will not be able to pay for my ticket officially until February. I use the Delta airline for my travel. So far the fares are about $200+ and a friend of mine told me that I am able to reserve a seat but not pay for it until I arrive at the airport. I have never done that before, I would just pay for the ticket when I had the money. So my question is, to get a better price on a plane ticket what are the steps to reserving my seat before I pay is it even possible? Also what are the steps to efficiently complete this to where there would be no problem?
where can i find cheap flights to ireland? where can i find cheap flights to ireland? i am hoping to travel as an unaccompanied minor this august from any new jersey/new york airport to shannon or dublin airport in ireland. i found some cheap flights the other day ($400-$500) and now those fares went up to $1000 and higher. i have tried many websites as well as airlines (continental, american, united, us, delta, aer lingus, etc.) and i cannot find any fares under $800. i know that it is expensive to fly to ireland in the summer, but can someone please help me find a cheap flight? i have a lot of family over there (grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, etc.) and i hope to see them this summer!
When is the best time to purchase an airline ticket? I am trying to purchase a ticket from RNO to CAK on Delta Airlines for late March. Over the past three days the air fare has gone up nearly $150.00. Is this simply because it is the weekend and the airline foresees a lot of people purchasing their tickets during the weekend? Does anyone have any idea if the fares will go down from where they are now at $416 per person? I know this is all purely going to be speculation considering airlines are constantly changing ticket prices but any input would be greatly appreciated. If it makes any difference the current booking code is in T class of service however I am unable to see the particular fare basis.
Finding airfare Boston-Dublin-Boston or NY-Dublin-Boston? So I found one flight a week ago NY-Dub-Bos with the first leg being non-stop and the second with one stop for $500 flat. I went to sleep and didn't book it. The next day it was gone. I can now find the same fare for $550 but without the non-stop leg (which is ok) but it seems that they are all with Air France. It doesn't matter when I go in on Jul 20th but I would like to fly out of Dublin on July28th no earlier than 2:30pm. Usually British Air, Aer Lingus and others have the cheap fares to Dublin in the summer. This year it's all Air France followed by American Airlines. I have Northwest Airlines and United Airlines frequent flyer miles and with a cheap economy flight on Air France I only get 25% of my miles! I think it's a rip off. If I can't redeem my miles then I'd like to be able to get a cheaper flight. Maybe you can help me search? Is there anything out there closer to $500 on any airline? Or anything around $600 through NWA, United, Continental, KLM or Delta so I can redeem the miles? I need to leave on July 20th at anytime from Boston or NY towards Dublin and need to leave Dublin on July 28th not before 2:30pm. Thank you for your help!
I missed a set of notes, could use some economics help. Price Elasticity of Demand.? Any help is greatly appreciated. Once I figure out how to do a couple, I should be able to do the rest. This is exactly what the sheet asks. "A demand curve is given by the equation: P=25-0.25Qd Calculate the Ed when P= $10" And if you'd really like to help... "Instead of relying on a full-coach, round trip unrestricted fare of about $2000 between OKC and LA, Delta Airlines since June has offered a $716 unrestricted fare in that market. Through October, the test resulted in about the same revenue that Delta thinks it would have collected with its fare. What is the price elasticity of deman on this airline route? Any help is really really appreciated. Thanks.
Looking for a site that will list last min airline deals without having to punch in cities for flex travelers? The object here is to find a website to review unbelievable last minute deals so that you can decide "sure I'll go to XYZ city this weekend for that price". Otherwise it would take forever to check all the airline and Expedia type webites, sift through the 4 different major airports we can depart from, then select various dates, then select various cities, etc, etc. We are hoping to find a site that on a particular day you could find fares within the next few days or week that would allow you to spontaneously decide to take a trip because the price is too irresistable. Thanks for your help!!! It might look something like this: LGA to CHI, United, Actual RT flight numbers and dates, price MIA to CLE, Continental, Act RT flights, price LAX to LAS, Delta, Act RT flights, price ETC ETC ETC
Since California farmers lose their jobs by the tens of thousands what good is a farm bill bringing in guest? Since California farmers lose their jobs by the tens of thousands what good is a farm bill bringing in thousands of guest workers ?As California farmers lose their jobs by the tens of thousands to protect a tiny fish, the sad irony is that the delta smelt may not be faring much better. That's not because of inadequate protections against humans offered by state and federal officials, but rather because those officials seem incapable of saving the delta smelt from nature's predators. The smelt rarely grows much longer than three inches, and it is prey for any number of other creatures that inhabit the rivers of the San Joaquin Valley. As Rep. Tom McClintock (R-CA), noted at a recent congressional hearing, the water diversions have not helped the delta smelt populations. There are quite a few officials who believe that the delta smelt is on Darwin's fast track to extinction, despite the feel-good efforts of human environmentalists. McClintock's congressional colleague, George Radanovich, is even rooting it on, calling the smelt "a worthless little worm that needs to go the way of the dinosaur." For their part, environmentalists who sue on behalf of the delta smelt consider the tiny fish to be an absolutely critical part of the food chain, feeding on plankton and in turn serving as food for larger fish and birds. If the delta smelt disappears, they warn ominously, the local food chain collapses. Whether that's true or not, what the policies boil down to should be a matter of picking your calamity: should the fish (and others in the food chain) suffer, or should humans? http://spectator.org/archives/2009/09/11/emptying-reservoirs-in-the-mid/1
What's wrong with crappy airlines? why can't they follow the Southwest model? For crying out loud, I booked a ticket with america west/us airways, I later wanted to change my flight but they want to charge me $100. It stinks since the fare i paid was only $120 (short flight). With Southwest, you wont get a refund but they'll credit the amount you've paid before but without a penalty, at least that has been my experience recently. A bunch of airlines keep complaining and losing money and slashing jobs... why can't they follow the model of Southwest to stay afloat? Southwest uses a single type of aircraft (which saves a ton on pilot training and mechanic training, plus you get discounts from Boeing), they fly smart routes, etc etc. Why won't Delta and American and America West learn??
Help me with this please? I have to book for 5 people to travel to Phoenix. Delta have an airfare for $420 per passenger leaving from JFK while Continental have a fare for $374 per passenger leaving from Newark. We live in NYC, which one do you think is better for us? Thanks
airtran questions? i am flying airtran out of charleston sc i picked them cause its a smaller airport with the big boy'(delta,us-air and united)having a monopoly here the avg 1 way fare is around $250 to a hubbed city airtran can get me there for 200 round trip is the customer service good if something goes wrong? are they a safe airline (safety record) are the 717's as good as dc-9s can i take pictures of takeoff/landing
Question about upgrading with frequent flier miles? So I'm purchasing a ticket from Tampa to Amsterdam with a layover in Atlanta using my Delta Skymiles and have the option of flying with Northwest Airlines or KLM. I have about 12,000 Continental Miles which I would like to use to upgrade my flight (just going there) from economy to business class. On Continental's website they say it costs only 10,000 miles to upgrade but every time I call them I can never get a straight answer about if there are upgradeable seats available or if this would even work. The main reason I'm having trouble is because I haven't booked the ticket yet through Delta (because I want to make sure there are upgradeable seats on the flight). Does anyone know if I can use my Continental miles to upgrade a flight (on KLM or NWA, which are partners with both Delta and Continental) purchased with Delta miles? I don't know if it has anything to do with what fare ticket is it (y, d, etc). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Infant, flight ticket, why so expensive? Hi everyone, I recently purchased two tickets from New York(JFK) to Venice(Italy).. I paid around $1500 for me and my wife together .. I called Delta to add my daughter(one year old) on the tickets.. The first time they told me I won't receive a paper ticket at home anymore and I should pay the fare for my daughter at the check in... Suspicious of all this I called again and they told me the fare changes every minute and to stop it I should pay it now with them... She is 1 year old, she will be sitting on our lap and we need to pay $480???I paid for my seat $700 WTF!!!! any suggestion?

Can I buy an air ticket in Thailand if I am in the USA? I am a US citizen traveling to India but I really want to go Thailand also. I researched and I am getting cheap tickets on Delta to go to Bangkok. However, if I plan a multi-city trip (Boston-Bangkok-Delhi-Boston) the fare is outrageously higher than buying a Boston-Bangkok-Boston ticket and then buy a separate really cheap ticket on Thai Air for Bangkok-Delhi-Bangkok. I understand that I will need to go through immigration/customs a few times in Thailand but I do not need a visa to Thailand, the State Department tells me, and I do have a visa to India. My questions are: 1. Can I buy a ticket on Thai Air website or through a travel agent for a trip that does not originate in the USA? 2. Will this trip pose any problems with Thailand immigration/customs?
